Tondemo Isekai - 200 - Bloody Horn Bull Shiogama Yaki
Added 2020-12-31 15:49:31 +0000 UTCI’m thinking of making something to eat as soon as we get back, but I’m not quite sure what to do yet, mainly because it’s our last day over at that house and I wanted to make full use of the luxurious kitchen that we have.
Since we’re planning on leaving the town tomorrow morning, I also want to leave some food prepared. I really wanna try doing something extravagant while we have the chance.
As I thought about what I should make, the idea of Shiogamayaki came to mind. It has been quite a while since I made it, but the idea seemed good since I only got to make it once before.
At that time, I used pork, but it ended in quite a failure. I did everything according to the recipe, but the meat was a bit too salty. I then searched up on the internet and found a recipe that mentioned the meat should be wrapped in cabbage or lettuce in order to prevent the salt from sticking directly to the meat.
Considering the first time I made it, this time would be a success with no doubt. We could even call it revenge! Also this time, I’ll be using the meat from the Bloody Horn Bull, so let’s start by getting the ingredients from the Net Super.
I bought some natural salt, black pepper with a mill attached, and raw rosemary.
Alright then, time to get to work.
First of all, I lightly boiled the cabbage that’ll be used to wrap the meat with. Then for the salt, I put egg whites and crude salt in a bowl and mixed them by hand until it hardens when moisturized.
When the salt in the pot is ready, I sprinkled the Bloody Horn Bull meat with natural salt and black pepper and put the raw rosemary bits that I tore apart on the meat. Then, wrap the meat with the boiled cabbage leaves.
I placed a cooking sheet on the tabletop, spread the salt from the Shiogama in a large quantity over it and finally, wrap the meat around with the cabbage.
After that, I just had to make sure I covered every single bit with Shiogama’s salt until I couldn’t see the meat anymore. Then, bake it in the preheated oven.
Cooking it at 200 degrees, I watched over the oven since it was an all-in-one together with the magical stove. I took out the magical stove in an empty area of the kitchen and used the stove as well.
While using both at the same time, I cooked 6 pieces of the Bloody Horn Bull one at a time.
I thought the amount was just a bit over the top, so I put the excess into the item box.
“Alright, this should be enough”
I took out the Shiogamayaki from the oven and turned off the heat. Now I had to make the sauce. It was already good as it was, but since I feel like grain mustard sauce would go well with it I decided to make it as well.
I put the grain mustard, mirin and soy sauce in a pan, then let it boil for a bit and added some olive oil after it cooled down a little.
Has it gotten enough heat? I think so, looking good so far. With the handle of a kitchen knife, I tapped the Shiogama in order to crush it. The scent of herbs is really good.
I peeled the cabbage leaves from the Bloody Horn Bull meat chunks that came out and removed the rosemary on top. As I cut the chunks of meat, the inside was sort of light pink and was looking great.
Then, I tasted the tip of it…
“Woah, tasty!”
The scent of herbs really goes through the nose, and the salty taste was even better. The meat is moist and tender, and the heat level was also a success.
It should be good as it is right now.
This time, the Shiogamayaki was a big success. Just like the recipe said, the key was to wrap it around the cabbage leaves. For the time being, I cut a chunk of meat for Fer and put it on a plate.
At first, I let them have a taste without the sauce. I also cut a bit for me and put it on a plate, then stored the remaining Shiogamayaki in the item box.
I placed the plate with the Shiogamayaki on the wagon and headed towards the hungry fellas.
“Sorry to keep you waiting guys!”
“I’m tired of waiting already” - Said Fer, with a very sulky look.
“I’m sorry. I just thought I’d make good use of the luxurious kitchen since it’s our last day in town, so I decided to make something delicious”
With that said, I placed the plate with the meat that had been steamed in the Shiogama in front of Fer, Dora-chan and Sui.
“Ohh, looks like quite a delicious meat”
“Yeah, the smell is also pretty good”
“Looks delicious”
“This time, I made sure it was cooked properly so everyone, have a bite!”
As I said that, everyone began digging in.
“Mhmh, this is delicious indeed” - Said Fer, which began eating like crazy right after saying so.
“The meat is so tender and delicious!” - Said Dora-chan with her mouth full.
“This meat smells so good and tastes so good” - Sui was happily eating the meat.
The scent of herbs was really nice, and it was a success to use the raw rosemary. Well, whenever there’s some trouble, sprinkling it with herb salt and baking it in the Shiogama seems good.
Alright, time for me to have a bite too.
Oh dang, it really is moisty, soft and delicious! I feel like I could eat it all. I’m glad it turned alright this time. Even if I were to use Orc meat or Rock Bird meat, I think it’d turn out just fine too. And since we’re headed to Verulean, fish Shiogamayaki also sounds like a great idea.
“Seconds!” - Said Fer and the rest.
Alright, alright. I took out the Shiogamayaki from the item box.
“Nu, what is that?” - Fer made a mysterious look when he saw the Shiogamayaki without the salt removed.
“Inside is the meat you just ate earlier, look, if you crush the salt with the handle of the knife like this…”
I hit the Shiogamayaki with the handle, and as I broke it open…
“See, the meat comes out. It was baked inside this, that’s why it’s so tender”
“Oh I see. Alright, this time cut that in big slices and give it to me”
“Big slices, sounds good. I want it as well”
“Sui too!”
Here I am explaining the process and all you guys care about is eating more, oh well…
I cut the meat thickly just like they asked and sprinkled it with the grain mustard sauce.
“Woahh, this spicy thing goes well with the meat! Delicious!”
“It’s true, so spicy and delicious”
“It stings a bit, but Sui is okay with this amount. It’s yummy!”
From the looks of it, everyone took a liking to the sauce too. Let me have a bite too. Oh dang, it really is yummy!
The crunchy texture and spiciness of the grain mustard stick out real nice.
“Phew~ I’m full, can’t eat anymore” - Said Dora-chan, who ate half of the meat chunk and gave up.
Were those two chinks really that much for her?
“Well then, Sui will eat the rest!” - Said Sui, who was willing to eat the rest of the meat that Dora-chan couldn’t eat.
Of course, even after eating Dora-chan’s portion it wouldn’t be enough…
“Seconds!” - Said both Fer and Sui
Both of them were still asking for more. In the end, Fer and Sui had 4 chunks of meat each, even though each chunk was quite big. Then again, we still have 2 chunks remaining so it’s alright. Also, since they worked hard today, they deserve some dessert.
For Fer, I chose the S size of a strawberry short’s whole cake. Then for Dora-chan, I chose the strawberry and banana pudding sundae with the usual cream puff pudding. Lastly, for Sui, I chose the S size of a whole chocolate cake with tons of fruits on top of it.
“Hey everyone, here’s a little gift for the hard work today”
“Umu” - As usual, Fer just says ‘umu’ while acting all important and whatnot, but he looked very happy.
“Oh yeah, pudding!” - Dora-chan looked happy when she saw the pudding.
“It’s a chocolate cake!” - Sui also looked quite happy with the choice.
I was glad that everyone enjoyed their surprise and drank my coffee meanwhile. We’re saying goodbye to this mansion tomorrow, what a shame. It was extremely comfortable.
Well, we have plenty of money so I might as well rent a house in Verulean too.
