How to Watch VR180 Videos
Added 2025-10-10 21:10:33 +0000 UTCNeed help watching a VR180 video? There's a few different ways you can go about it. If you have a Quest headset you can consider using these options with Quest or do it on Desktop via Steamlink, Airlink, Virtual Desktop, etc!
Wolvic (Quest and Pico): Wolvic is a VR/XR web browser that can be gotten on the Quest or Pico store for free! Does not work with PCVR. To use:
1.) Install the browser
2.) Login to Patreon
3.) Open the video link and fullscreen the video.
4.) Press your controller's trigger underneath the video to open a small settings bar
5.) Click on the icon that look like a headset ("Video Projection") and select "Stereo 180 Left to Right"
6.) Enjoy the video!
This is by far the best method for Quest and Pico users since it does not require you to download the video and works in headset fairly seamlessly!

Methods below require downloading the video! If you are on Quest you will need to login to Patreon on the Quest Browser to download!

Vrplayer: Using the website vrplayer.io you can easily watch the video by browsing for the file. Everything is handled locally so you don't need to wait for upload times! It will automatically determine the video is VR180 (if it doesn't, select "Left | Right" and "180°" at the top panel) and all you need to do is click the "Enter VR" button in the upper left to start watching!
Quest Disclaimer: You can access the site using the Quest web browser. I noticed that when I used it the video would play back at a very low framerate unless I had the meta ui open (by pressing the meta button on the right controller). Just move the ui to be behind you and you should be good to go ^^

DeoVR (Preferred): DeoVR is a free Steam and Quest App that you can download for watching VR content! The steps for using it are as follows:
1.) Download and Install DeoVR from the Meta Horizon Store or Steam Store
2.) Launch DeoVR
3.) Allow the app to access all of your files (Quest)
4.) At the very bottom underneath the video list is a settings bar. Click the folder icon
5.) Click the "Download Folder" or wherever you have stored the video
6.) Select the video you want to watch
7.) Press the trigger to open up the menu.
8.) Click "Flat" underneath the playback player
9.) Select "180 Lat/Long"
10.) Click "Mono" underneath the playback
11.) Select "SideBySide"
The video will now playback in VR180!
Disclaimer: I had some issues getting the steam version to work with my quest. It would open but the controllers didn't appear. I would probably stick to Wolvic on Quest!
Virtual Desktop ($20 App) (Quest, Pico, etc): Virtual Desktop is a $20 application that allows you to wirelessly connect to your PC. While it mostly is meant for PCVR, you can also play videos on it.
1.) Download and Install Virtual Desktop on your headset
2.) Go to the Videos tab
3.) Click on the video you want to watch (I believe it has to be in the videos folder on your PC)
4.) On the horizontal menu, choose the Dome 3D option to get it to run VR180.
The video will playback in VR180!
Hopefully this helps you watch the videos! If you have any other methods that are easier than these please let me know so I can include them!
