AI is not easy

Artificial intelligence can barely get the number of fingers on a hand right, and we need it to draw phallic alien parasites consistently. The extreme sex being depicted in Parasite Infection requires intense training and a very expensive library of custom images to draw from.

But it's working. It's working quite well.

Edit: To clarify, the expensive library of custom images is all the artwork from the first Parasite Infection game, which were extremely expensive to produce and took a lot of time.

Comments

The amount of snobbery in these comments is insane. Like Christ someone's money isn't infinite and there are few commissionable artists that would even touch such a niche and extreme topic. Would custom drawn art be best? Yes. But It's largely a text based game anyway, so chill the fuck out.

Like others here I will no longer be supporting this game is AI is going to be used, frankly I don't care if it's for budgeting reasons or to "get the art out faster" there should be no reason to not support actual artists, I will still be following the development from a distance so if you change your mind I might come back to support, we shall see.

I would prefer shittier images for until you can hire someone or even just a very descriptive text rather then AI

If it's "very expensive", why not just hire an artist

The training images are the ones from PI1

using AI should be fine for the bulk of the work, it does have a unique appeal to it, but you may want to consider using a human to fix some of the fails that just refuse to come out correctly. you could also just upload the best of the AI fails to the game as needed and offer a bounty for the first artist that is able to fix the bugs. That should keep the art rolling out at a consistent pace without getting bogged down in an AI "i can fix it" loop. This way either the art gets fixed by an artist or the AI is able to improve enough over time to revisit older work.

Rather than making a bunch of custom images to train AI with, why not make custom images to use in the game?

I mean I've been here since 2017, and I am gone as soon as the month ends because of AI usage.

This feels like a rather defensive post, coming so soon after my previous comment. Probably just a coincidence, but I'll state again that you could also focus on getting your game working mechanically while having real art made. I don't know why you insist on doing this but if you're doubling down, then I'm afraid I won't be returning to support you.
