I know my recent devlogs are all about me sharing features in Blender, because that's what I have been doing. Well, this time, it's about hair. This is the first hair I made using the new hair system in Blender. One of the advantages of Blender over Daz3d is fluid simulation. While Daz3d has a plugin for fluid simulation, it is very primitive, because Daz3d is not designed for such features officially. For a game where milk is a central theme, fluid simulation is rather important.

A guy told me he enjoys the scenes with milk more than scenes where the MC is spewing his world view. Well, I'd love to make more milk content but like I said, Daz3d is extremely limited in that aspect. But, since I am using Blender now, I can make my own models for milk content. Here is one such example, a huge milk tower in those dairy plants. We can finally scale up the milk production :).

So as I said, I tried setting up a scene and rendering in Blender. The main reason for this is that Blender allows using RAM in place of VRAM for GPU rendering when you run out of VRAM, which is extremely helpful for less powerful computers. In comparison, in Daz, you can't use the GPU at all if you run out of VRAM. There are also lots of different things you can do in Blender that you can't do in Daz, such as making new objects.

Well, maybe Unreal Engine is out of my league. I have trouble in even getting a dialogue system to work in Unreal Engine. I mean, I do really want to make a full 3D game, but like I said before, I don't even know if it's doable for me. Well, sort of a devlog. I said in the previous post that I was testing out Unreal Engine. So far this is what I have got. It's better than Daz3d in a number of areas. Having more lights doesn't decrease performance massively. Same with volumetric light. Animations are also much smoother.

Hey, sorry about the lack of updates recently. I wanted to wait until I have prepared more before making this announcement, but I think it would take a bit longer before I have something ready. Well, when you have complete control over the lighting, you can do some really dramatic shot. This is a classic menacing shot, where the majority of the face is covered in shadows, giving it a very skull-like appearance.

Well, now that I'm back in Daz, I should be able to pick up the pace, but already I have run into some problems, such as extremely badly optimised props that made it almost impossible to render the scene. I had to find which assets were causing the problem and remove them.

Maybe I should take my words back from the previous devlog. I said AI art is not limited to making portraits. Well, that's true, there are many AI artworks that are not portraits, but it is mainly designed to make portraits, at least for now. It's also very hard to make exactly what you have in mind. It's also hard to fix the mistakes of the AI. The AI is always so stubborn that it refuses to fix something as obvious as patches on a wall, or that the road doesn't start from the door.  View Post

I have been learning about AI art. The main reason for that is that I feel limited by Daz3d, in terms of assets, such as environments, hair, clothing, so I have been exploring whether using AI art can help, or even replace Daz3d. Well, taming Christina proves to be a little bit difficult. I have written many scenarios for that but some of them are too wordy or boring. I don't this to be a repeat of the Emma scene, and the MC has to play into Christina's beliefs, while she won't accept whatever the MC says. It's certainly quite a challenge.
