I remember a few months back I was watching a documentary on Netflix about Japanese idol life and a lot of it mirrors what was discussed here. I'm definitely more familiar with J-POP idol life as that was my original musical interest (Perfume is actually one of the first groups that got me into the scene!) but it's really fascinating to see the differences and even similarities between the two cultures. I'm glad you had the opportunity to research and learn more about it!
