Good news, bad news.

This past weekend was Anime Dallas, one of a VERY FEW conventions which did not cancel due to COVID-19. I committed to vend there prior to the pandemic going out of control. Furthermore, since it was a good-selling convention in what is normally my lean time, I didn't want to risk maybe not being able to get back in. So I took all precautions I could, and I went, and I sold. I got home just before midnight last night.

And earlier this afternoon I learned that the founder and president of the convention had been exposed to COVID on Thanksgiving and had taken a fast-result test before the minimum incubation period. That of course came back negative, since the fast-result test isn't sensitive enough to pick up developing infections. As a result, along with rumors which I will not repeat unless confirmed by an official source, I must now assume that I have been exposed to COVID. This was of course always a probability, but under the circumstances I must treat it as certainty until and unless I go a full fifteen days without symptoms or positive tests.

In practical terms, that means I can't ship any books until at earliest just before the end of the year.

I'm very sorry for the trouble. Wish me luck, that the N95 masks and hand sanitizer I used might be enough to have kept me safe.
