Cookbook Photoshoot

Hi all!

I know many of you have been following the  photoshoot for the cookbook on Instagram all week, but for those not on Instagram, here are a few behind the scenes images of some of the dishes.

Watching this team work has been a masterclass, not only in photography, but in food styling, cooking, and time management. There are two cooks, one of whom is a food stylist and watching them in the kitchen is like watching a ballet. There is another stylist who specializes in the set design and composition of each shot. Finally, there is a photographer. It's exciting because, while Tasting History is all me, this is a complete collaboration. Having other opinions, perspectives, and artistic eyes is a new and welcome experience for me.

I can't wait for you all to see the final photos!

I love your videos and eagerly wait for new ones each week! 😁

Oh I didn't even know that documentary. Thank you very much for mentioning it.

I haven't seen this! I'm going to see if I can't watch it; I could still tack on some info to the punch romaine video.

Absolutely loving this Titanic series. Curious if whenever you cover the crew you will also talk about some of the new research from the recent documentary The Six (🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼!) https://www.thesixdocumentary.com/

Pictures look amazing! I look forward to making a whole bunch of these recipes with my mother once I have the cookbook. Keep up the great work Max love all your videos!

Can’t wait for your cookbook Max and your first Titanic video is “ the bomb”. Your research is very impressive. If you and Jose ever visit Nova Scotia, see the cemetery where most of the passengers ( that were not lost at sea) are buried. They lay the gravestones in a pattern to resemble a ship. Some of the graves are for infants. The whole experience is extremely moving.

Don't we all! ;-)

It was done at an airbnb. I wish my home looked like that : )

Are these done in a studio or in your home with staging?

I don't recognize some of these. I may have missed an episode! Can you tell us which recipes they are?

Looking forward to being able to purchase your cookbook!!

I cannot wait to see the finished product!

This is all looks so good!! I’m so excited. That meringue though, it’s perfect!

Tara

I'm so hungry now! :D

Yamp44

He uses that cleaver to do everything! It’s impressive to watch how precise he is with it.

Of course I will!

These look really nice, and tasty. You need to offer/sell/however autographed copies of your cookbook to your wonderfully loyal patreons!

I've never seen a pie sliced with a cleaver before! Looks great, can't wait for the book!

Tara Sadowski

My mouth is watering. Just gorgeous Max.

David Colera

These are all very behind the scenes that I took with my iPhone. The actual shots look very different. Nobody slicing into a pie.

The pics are wonderful! My wife and I can't wait to get a copy of the cookbook. Keep up the great work!

The first image isn't working for me :-( but the others all look delicious and beautifully presented. (That bit of crust that's broken loose in the second photo actually makes it look more real, i.e. less staged/styled. Definitely use that photo!)

Alice

They all look wonderfully delicious. I am so excited for you, Max. I can hardly wait to see the finished cookbook. It's going to be fantastic. Best wishes to you and the family. :)
