Yep, we were supposed to have a scene with Howie and Cassie, too. :)
But who's that behind the curtain?
Doc.
Dialogue:
(Holmes and Watson walking along a dirt road in the country. Half-timbered houses. Holmes has a sling made from his cravat. The pub signboard says either "The Hound of the Baskervilles," "The Five Orange Pips," "The Dancing Men," a four-part rose--"The Sign of Four," or "The Three Gables." It might be best to go with the most recognized name.)
Holmes: Come, Watson--! Let us repair to this pub for something to fortify us before our return to London! (break) It is run by an old acquaintance of ours--
Watson: It is? Who?
(Entering the pub; Howie and Cassie are behind the bar)
Holmes: Surely you remember the beauteous Irene Adler, and her very fortunate husband, Geoffrey Morton?
Irene: (leaning over the bar, smiling) Mr. Holmes, you silver-tongued devil! How long has it been? (then scowling) And when are you going to pay off your bar tab?
(In a booth in the back of the pub)
Holmes: (scowling into his beer) I confess, Watson, there are aspects of this case which have me flummoxed...
Watson: (earnestly) We should give it up, Holmes! It's--
Holmes: Hush!
Watson: (irritably) No, listen to m--
Holmes: (more forcefully) HUSH!
Holmes: (whispering, indicating a moving curtain behind Watson) --we are being spied upon...!
