The Blone-Apartington Sketch

Like the title strip says, Kathy from Carry On helped write the following story- really, she laid out the whole thing, and I've basically just been adding a little TEB flavor to it. :)

She also gave me a fairly complete "storyboard" of sketches that I've been using to base the artwork on. Above is her sketch, pasted into my comic panel- you can see I put a lot of work into it. :)

And, if you'll pardon the pun, I ask that you bear with me on this. I've got a little bit of a buffer at the moment, but these strips have been taking about twice as long as a normal one, thanks to the extra details and shading. Don't be surprised if one shows up in B&W or even just as a rough sketch. :)

Hope you get a kick out of it, it's been a blast to do so far!

Doc.

I was quite satisfied with the Blone-App Papers. Very good work.

Ah, I misinterpreted the name Blone. I didn't take it as 'blown' but as a cryptic way to say 'baloney.' My bad. :-)

As a Sherlock fan I'm blown away with how you're doing this. It reminds me of the dream sequences on "Gilligan's Island" where the characters would inhabit a completely different story (In fact, there *was* a Sherlock sequence with the Sipper and Gilligan as Holmes & Watson). I look forward to how this all plays out (and if you have to drop your output to 3/week I'd be perfectly happy)

Blone-Apartington Papers. It took a couple of passes to see what you did there. As a Holmes fan I got the pun on The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans but didn't sound it out until much later.

I think I'll like it even in black and white or as a rough sketch... Best of luck and have a good progress!

I love this sketch! I don't think you should worry about time. Take as much time as you need!

Ah yes, a joke I remember from long ago. "What do you get when you strap the Emperor Napoleon in front of a cannon? Napoleon Blownaparte!"

This looks fun! I think I'm going to enjoy this story!

Funny, that's how all the stories my dad told me started when I was a kid.

The first page looks great. Looking forward to seeing the result of this collaboration.
