Ross Coulthart, a once respected Aussie journalist, was awarded the Australian Skeptics Bent Spoon Award for 2023 for his credulous UFO reporting. The award was reported in a column of a major Australian daily. Needless to say, Ross was not happy so he really doesn't like skeptics.

Nice idea. Wish it had ever worked in the history of humanity ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

I have to strongly disagree on the desirability of greater reliance upon the private sector. This just leads to individuals like Musk who accumulate way too much wealth. The public-private cooperation almost always is far more beneficial to the private sector. In terms of the lack of revenue available to Governments, a major factor would have to be corporations not paying sufficient taxes; if they truly do have the sort of money to bankroll their own space efforts, they have enough to pay more tax. Private corporations tend to have interests that are rarely conducive to the public interest.
