Book Update:
Added 2017-12-17 21:47:26 +0000 UTCA few weeks ago, I sent out early copies of the all-new Book 7 to the $25-and-up Donors... and have gotten two of them returned as undeliverable.
Aaron of Oklahoma, yours was listed as "address not known", and Nicholas of France, yours was listed as "two different addresses" and returned "due to export control regulations".
If either of you would like to provide me with a different or corrected address, I'll be happy to send them off again. (Although Nick, the Priority mail to France cost me $32.95, so this time it'll probably go First Class. :) )
Please email a corrected address to grumpy@the-whiteboard.com
And, for the rest of you, I have five copies remaining, that are all dated 2017, and have a dedication inside the front page specifically to you patrons. After those are gone, everything after that will be dated 2018 (since that's when they'll likely finally be launched to the public) and have a more generic intro inside.
I will be mailing those last ones out on Monday the 18th as Christmas Presents to five more-or-less randomly selected Patrons!
After that, books should be available to the public at some point after the beginning of the year. There's still a lot of work to do with rebuilding the old books from scratch since I don't have the original files, so I don't know exactly when that'll be.
But keep watching, and I'll keep ya updated! :)
And as always, thanks!
Doc.

This is why I'd recommend having at least one "Master copy" of each book to reference at later date. Also, to flip through and look back at how far you've come from time to time. Keep up the good work, and stay safe!

2018-01-31 20:42:18 +0000 UTCI just got home to find some Random Christmas Cheer waiting on my doorstep. Thank you, Doc! The book looks great, and it's got pride of place in the bathroom library. :D

2017-12-21 21:35:46 +0000 UTCThat it does. I'm looking forward to more tales from the prints hop as things progress, those in the shop type posts are a big part of why I love TWB. Anyway, Just wanted to throw my idea (fantasy) in the pot :)

2017-12-21 20:51:44 +0000 UTCActually, I have a lot of different ideas for books in mind, that printing in-house suddenly makes possible or worthwhile. I have to actually work up some prototypes first, see if they are, actually, doable, before I make any announcements, though.

2017-12-21 20:27:41 +0000 UTCHey Doc, have you considered doing an Omnibus to commerate 2500 strips, or maybe the first 10 years of comics? I'm imagining a nice big hardcover with like 3 strips to a page...

2017-12-21 19:20:01 +0000 UTCAh, I figured it was some kind of issue similar to that. I'll keep my f5 key poised and in position for when the store updates. Thanks, Doc.
2017-12-19 15:58:01 +0000 UTCAs errors go, that is a kinda sad one. And yet I've been laughing for a good 5 minutes now.. 😁 I'll be patient.

2017-12-18 11:53:49 +0000 UTCWell, I just discovered what the problem is: Seems the lady at my local Post Office put the customs form for yours in Nick's package, and vice-versa. So the package with the French address has a Denmark address on the customs form, and the package with the Denmark address has a French address on the customs form. I suppose I should be expecting yours to be returned to me any day now... Sorry about that, I'll get them heading back out as soon as possible.

2017-12-18 10:27:55 +0000 UTCawesome!

2017-12-18 04:24:09 +0000 UTCI'm afraid not, sir. The PO doesn't offer package tracking overseas, the only way I could check on it would be to take the customs form to the PO and have the Postmaster initiate a search for it. Or wait 'til I get it back, like Nicks. :) Sorry, not much else I can do.

2017-12-18 02:00:32 +0000 UTC*Everybody* missed Book 6. :) The last one officially released was Book 5: You Only Ref Twice, back in 2010. My print guy moved shortly after that, and went through some trials and tribulations for several years afterward. He's had the files for Book 6 since late 2015, and I'm *still* waiting to get any of those, which is why I finally said "screw this, I'm gonna do it myself!" :) If all goes well, when I finally release them to the public, I'll hopefully have all of them, from #1 all through to #7.

2017-12-18 01:56:04 +0000 UTCI didn't pay attention that this is book 7. I know that I have books 1-3, and think that I have books 4 and 5. But I completely missed book 6. So I may try to order both 6 and 7 together.

2017-12-18 01:32:33 +0000 UTCI hope I'm one of the random selections, I have all of your books so far
2017-12-18 01:26:19 +0000 UTCHey Doc. Any news or track'n'trace on my copy? In all seriousness, the local postal service is horrid, and I'm worried. They have been known to leave my mail and packages out in the rain, and I'd hate for that to happen. :(

2017-12-18 00:39:47 +0000 UTCAwesome let me know so I can get one
2017-12-17 22:46:23 +0000 UTCWill do, and thank you.

2017-12-17 22:45:14 +0000 UTCI haven't set prices for the books yet. I still need to do some analysis about costs- the one drawback of this DIY system is that it will inevitably cost a bit more per book compared to a big professional printer who has the advantage of economies of scale. The old books were between $10.95 and $12.95 each, depending on how thick they were, and factors like having glossy covers printed by outside shops. I'm hoping to keep the in-house prices either the same or very close to it.
