Thanks for these videos, they're really great. One thing, though, in the bit about asking for examples of pharma people who are "monsters" -- first person I thought of was Martin Shkreli, who raised the price of a 1953 drug by 5,000+ percent. I don't think that a**hole cares about people.

Just because we barely hear/know about anything else in the world doesn't mean nothing is going on. We do know, but in a flippant "they don't matter" fashion. The US is so Americentric that it treats the rest of the world like NPCs. Being an expat and traveling for pleasure (rather than just on a honeymoon or that once in a lifetime trip) really shows how little awareness Americans have about the rest of the world. (When an Icelandic volcano grounded European flights for months, hotels in Vegas - an international destination - had no idea.) The media contributes horrendously to this ignorance as well. They barely report anything beyond tragedies, attacks, catastrophes and where we have troops fighting. "Other"-izing, or stripping people of their humanity, isn't just creating malignant caricatures of other people, cultures or ideologies, it's stripping them of their basic existence, making them mere NPCs or extras in a movie who only exist for America's pleasure; people that just sit around only pining about how great it is in America and dreaming of catching the next caravan to the border.
