BIP - February

I just released Chapter Three, so as you might expect there isn't a whole lot of new content for the BIP, but! If you like Charon I have good news for you—their Chapter Four plot scene is done, as is the one that immediately follows, which everyone gets. So far, that's 17,000 words, meaning I managed to write 9,000 more this week, so things are certainly humming along.

The options I had chosen beforehand in regards to Iasion - when called into the throne room, I was overwhelmed and stared blankly ahead, then chose 'I can't respond to this right away' And then I chose 'I'm not sure if I want to meet him, but I suppose going to see how things look can't hurt. ' When I arrived at the scene I asked the others what they think I should do. And then I went with the 'I don't think I want to do this. What's the point, if it will only end in him forgetting we met?' Then I went with maybe I'm just scared option, and then when asked a final time if I didn't want to meet him, I chose the 'I can't. Thank you for doing all this, but I just can't' option. Then after that, any time a character asked how I was handling things, I chose not handling well/being overwhelmed. When Hermes asked whether we wanted to let Demeter know about Iasion, I chose that I think Iasion should be asked if that's something he wants. Then when the scene about Kronos came up and about informing Iasion, I chose 'I'll do it." The knowledge that Iasion is possibly destined for the Isles and a longer memory is enough for me to change my mind about speaking with him.' Then I chose the option for Daeria to tell Demeter that I have no wish to see her when she arrived. Then when I went to see Iasion for the first time, and he makes the comment about our eyes, I chose 'I swallow thickly, nerves sticking my tongue to the roof of my mouth.' My next choice was 'You speak as though you've had a plan for a while, but I got the impression you didn't know I existed.' Then I picked 'I don't particularly need to know how you met or anything, but please do tell me a bit about yourself.' Next I chose 'I'm still reeling a little, not sure how to respond, but I manage a tight 'thank you,' at least.' That's when I chose the 'Yeah, I'm betting that was as awkward as awkward gets.' And that's when I get that passage with: 'Running a finger down the bridge of his nose, he studies you across the table for a few moments. "It's awkward between you two, too, it seems. Well—you basically told me that, last time. Is it okay if I ask you more about that?", Even though in this particular playthrough I had not spoken to him until this point at all. I hope that made all sense, and helps a little!

2025-02-28 15:58:51 +0000 UTCJust to clarify, *has* Iasion ever mentioned talking to you before when he hasn't talked to you before? It definitely shouldn't be happening that way, but if it has, more information about what exactly you chose leading up to that would definitely be helpful!

I wanted to point out a possible continuity error for PCs who initially did not want to see Iasion/have a bad relationship with Demeter, and then when the Kronos situation arises, the PC can have another chance to meet him for the first time. If you choose the I bet that was awkward option, and then you get the passage: 'Running a finger down the bridge of his nose, he studies you across the table for a few moments. "It's awkward between you two, too, it seems. Well—you basically told me that, last time. Is it okay if I ask you more about that?"' There might need to be a variable that changes 'Well—you basically told me that, last time.' for the particular PCs that did not meet Iasion last time to mention it? Anyhow, your writing is still so lovely, and I'm excited to see more in the future!
