I did not like Cara's COVID vaccine discussion at all. It is clearly a problem of a non-expert discussing a difficult topic. The biggest problem was her saying that "people with blood clotting disorders or who are taking Coumadin or warfarin right now aren't supposed to take the vaccine."" That comment is incorrect and irresponsible to make. There is a higher risk of hematoma for an intramuscular injection, but I do not know of any specific contraindication for this and would never say that someone should not be vaccinated because of that risk. People who are anticoagulated often carry risk factors for poor outcomes with COVID and adding to already existing vaccine hestitancy with misleading or incorrect information is really not good.
