You mentioned "systemic racism" in the medical profession that may cause (does cause?) some African Americans to mistrust doctors. Can you please define what you mean by that term? I am, of course, aware of the infamous tuskegee syphilis experiment and other historical examples of racism in medicine. But I assume that you mean something that is operating presently. Do you mean disparate treatment of African Americans by white doctors? Do you mean worse health outcomes for certain racial groups in certain areas? Or something else? I see this terms doing a lot of work in numerous contexts and I am finding it hard to evaluate the claims. Thank you for all the great work that you do.
