Apologies for the late release, this one was heavily bogged down by the render times and It's pretty important to me to have the poll winners release within the following month. Luckily I just made it. Having 3 characters coupled with some relatively elaborate lighting and set design made these scene waaay too heavy and I'll have to reasses how I go about doing stuff in this regard for future releases. It's probably not a good idea in general to get overzealous with the set building when working with more than two characters at once. It might even be something I should tone down in general - unsure. I would have also had even more variants were this not the case. Going forward I'd like to put even more emphasis on the animation itself and less on the peripheral. Another thing I'd really like to start doing better is storyboarding, as both this animation and the Sue Storm animation linger in my mind over how much better they could have been.
This one also turned out a lot more experimental than anticipated! I originally just wanted to pay a bit of a homage to the animation of Arcane as a a treat, but somehow ended up doing a some weird mutated practice piece that probably shoudn't have gone as far as it did. Lesson learned in that regard, I guess :S. There's definitely some stuff I'll take into regard in terms of the animation itself for future reference, although it definitely feels like came out more gimmicky than I would've liked. Whilst it was a fun experiment it's definitely not a style I'll make a staple. All in all, I'm not too excited with how it turned out. I also tried to somehow replicate the look of the show by having the lights flatten the models more than what I'd usually like. It didn't really come particularly close due to several factors, one being that I believe they hand-animate the textures themselves which is pretty impossible to do by yourself within reasonable time <_>. As for the set design, it's a mix of her workshop and Zaun.
Hope this one's to your enjoyment seeing as Jinx seems to be pretty popular. I did main her for a decent while back in Season 3 when I used to play. It'll be cool to revisit Arcane down the line, probably with a named character instead of generic dudes however. See you next time!
