I'll have to apologize for the relatively late (and short) release. Whilst this animation could have gone into a lot of different directions, it unintentionally ended up being a practice piece on my part and, frankly, I am not particularly content in how it came out out as a whole. In turn, it also came out a day later than I'd hoped for, meaning I both missed my regular schedule (animations on Friday) and Valentine's Day. All-in-all, huge bummer on my end.
For the technically curious, most of the process consisted of fiddling and experimenting with mixing IK and FK to produce less stiff and more visceral animation as well as NLA in general. While it's easy to drag the inexperience and beginner excuse to death, this did take a considerable amount of time for results that might not be particularly overt and at the expense of other aspects. As a cope, I'll consider this a rocky intermediate piece in what should otherwise just be a stepping stone to becoming
a better artist.
I can only hope some of you enjoy this one, but I'm already chomping at the bit to go work on whatever's next to make up for it. I won't be deterred ~\(≧▽≦)/~
