Improved Soles for Mio, and progress report!
Added 2023-03-29 03:04:05 +0000 UTCHey!
Still not rendering! There were still some unexpected bumps on the road with the hair sims, and of course, I found some things I wanted to improve further, namely I wasn't happy with how static Mio's soles were, and I'd also like to try adding some soft body physics in some choice places within the animation still. Nothing major though, as it does work well enough without them as well.
That said, I've now cached enough hair physics for both characters, so I can start rendering as soon as the other stuff that came up are done with. I'll give the soft physics a couple days, if it seems like I can't get anything worthwhile out of it, I'll just jump to rendering.
With that said, I'm aiming to start rendering within a few days, likely by the end of Friday, so I should have some rendered animated clips from the actual animation to show you some time next week. Mind you I won't post the entire animation fully rendered, until final release, so there's something fresh to see for everyone at release as well. Just some short clips from parts of the animation, while renders get pushed out during the following months.

Attached is a short loop of some improvements I made to Mio's soles. This is rendered in a separate scene for testing purposes, as most of you can probably tell, due to the simple lighting and lack of a background! These improvements will be in the actual video as well obviously, but there might be some shots where I might need to disable them, like when Master is stuck to the foot (after the "sandwich"), but I'll see what I can do about that, once I need to deal with that part. I can focus on other parts of the animation in the meantime.
That's all for now! I'll post a short rendered clip from the actual animation next week.
