I didn't do ink lines again for this comic, just like the Olympics one, and I think it paid off again! I feel ink lines aren't that necessary for me. I draw pretty cleanly, so cleaning up the sketch a little bit saves me a ton of time and energy and doesn't really reduce the appeal of it. This comic would have easily taken twice as long had I tried to ink it perfectly, which would have been less time for something else.
I think for artists with messier sketching, ink lines are more necessary to increase the visual appeal, but I probably don't need to worry about it. :p
