Development Blog #19
Added 2023-02-03 23:23:40 +0000 UTCThis post will be about development times.
It is a generally asked question, and I wanted to give you guys brief information about how long each version takes to develop with small details.
First of all, writing: To achieve a believable and exciting story, it is necessary to spend as much time thinking and creating a very immersive scenario and dialogues, which is easier said than done. Writing has been the biggest challenge because these projects are basically Novels with gameplay elements added in them along with nice visuals. Grammar mistakes and typos are also crucial to fix, which takes time. Writing generally takes two or three weeks.
Secondly, renders and post-processing: An excellent visual novel wouldn't be good only because of its writing. It needs semi-decent visuals too. Many people think both Esra in Istanbul and The Prison Guard excel in this department, but good visuals also take time to create. Fortunately, unlike many other developers, I am experienced in this field. My main goal is to deliver you the best visual satisfaction possible with as many animations and renders. I use most of my time to create good visuals. Currently, I'm sitting at around 2 months on average, which is pretty acceptable. (in my opinion)
Third, coding and music&sounds: These don't take more than one or two weeks for each version, but they still add to development times. The more time I spend on coding, the more features the game gets to have. For now, I want my projects to be mainly story-driven rather than gameplay driven. Therefore I only spend a little bit of time here.
Currently, I'm working on Esra in Istanbul's third version. As usual, it should take around two months to get released. So there you have your answer, friends. I like working on my projects. It all started as a hobby. Lately, thanks to all of your support, I've started getting good revenue from it, so I'll take the work much more seriously from now on and listen to your feedback. (Which I always do)
Please never hesitate to share them with me.
Be safe!
