What I'm Working On #034

Hey all! I'm back with another update on how things are progressing. I know it's been quiet for a few weeks -- I ran into a few bugs that have unfortunately set back the timeline of the Regency update. It's important to me that I make sure things are really finished and not rushed, and I want to take the time to iron out these issues before release. I'm so sorry for the change of plans when I had thought I was so close!

One of the issues I've had is finding a way for the dances to not require your sims to be in a group. Oddly, my sim pickers work just fine as long as the sims are in a group of any variety -- even if the group isn't one of the picked sims - but obviously I would much rather that not be a requirement at all because some of these dances involve more than 8 sims.

I've also created a settings menu which will be available on the mailbox, and this has been a more intensive part of the update than initially planned. Not only will the usual settings in the config file be more accessible and changeable while you're in the game, but you'll be able to enable or disable entire systems such as Lady Whistledown,, social classes, legitimacy, and turn off fan and parasol autonomy without completely removing them from the game, if you prefer. You can even choose specifically which scandals are enabled at all. This has involved adding new testsets to almost every interaction available in the mod, but I believe it will be worth it especially for those who prefer to play without certain features.

There's also a really basic (optional) story progression system, so your unplayed sims will be able to become members of the ton with no influence on your own, engage in their own scandals, and enter courtships on their own.

I also want to say that if there are requests for the autonomy/settings menu, now would be a good time to make those suggestions! Since the timeline for this has been pushed back anyway, I'm going through and trying to make these systems are as complete as possible.
