Behind The Files

It's time to submit your questions for another edition of Behind the Files and the general Q&A. The cases being covered on this episode are; Case 293: Jamie Faith, Case 294: Ray & Jennie Kehlet and Case 295: Nadia Kajouji & Mark Drybrough. If you have any questions pertaining to those cases or any general questions you'd like to ask the team, put them in the comments below. Thank you!

At what part of the process do you decide if a case is going to be a two-parter? Did Milly start writing the Jamie Faith episode and just conclude it was long enough for two parts? Or did you know ahead of time how you were going to structure the story and she started writing it as a two-parter?

Are there any outlets you refuse to use as a source? For example in England, many people will refuse to use/believe information that is sourced from the sun newspaper because of their previous history of reporting. Do you have the same feeling for any sources?

First, thanks a ton for backfilling the older episodes. The quality has improved a lot since then, but I still enjoy listening to those episodes without needing to subscribe to the non-Patreon feed. How does the team decide when to cite a source in a script? I was relistening to Case 242 and noticed a book was mentioned quite a bit, just curious if you have rules or guidelines around when to do so

Will you be restoring the Snowtown murders on the platform?? It’s one of my favourite episodes

Have you ever thought of a warning before playing actual audio from an emergency call ? As someone who has done that job for a living, it was a bit jarring to hear such content in an episode of Casefile, which usually doesn't. Even though we all know it was crap and lies in the end, on first hearing it was a bit much for me. I'm not usually sensitive to these sorts of things but this one upset me a tad so thought I'd ask! Love the pod !

As for the old cases that were re-uploaded does this include those which were deleted for legal reasons or at the request of the family or just are they just old cases you decided to re-record due to audio issues?

Monica

I have a question about Case 294: Ray & Jennie Kehle. I'm really 50/50 on graham's guilt. Are you guys aware if Law Enforcement searched the area where the couple came across Graham? He seemed very caught off guard. Cheers guys keep being awsome!

Was it hard for Casey to get through the narration of the Aaron bacon episode? I found some of the details on his demise so heartbreaking and disturbing I had to skip ahead….

What cases took the longest to research/write for you? Which ones were the shortest?

Will you be doing more Australian crimes?

One for Casey, mostly as I know he is a sports fan, but also anyone on the team who wants to jump in also. What are your thoughts on the massive paywall on sports viewing. We have Stan, Paramount, Optus, Foxtel/Kayo who all have rights to some codes, if you like sports here in Australia you basically have to subscribe to all of them and most of them their premium packages. Our national teams are hidden behind a paywall for most matches now also. It is out of control in my opinion, for a nation who loves their sports it is unaffordable for so many now. What are your thoughts on this?

Can you do more cases involving white collar/non violent crimes?

Why don’t you have content warnings for you patreon episodes?

I know in an early BTF, Casey mentioned being a Patriots NFL fan. What do you think of the new coach?

Question for Casey, how far does he think his Sydney Roosters can go in the nrl finals and will he be attending any games?

Nathan Kroussoratis

When you are putting a new case together, which do you find to be the most valuable sources?

Will there be more Crime Interrupted anytime soon?
