Case 278: Alma Tirtschke (Part 1/2)

When 12-year-old Alma Tirtschke failed to return home after running an errand for her family, they were immediately concerned. Alma was a dutiful child who did what she was told and respected her elders.

Alma’s final movements were retraced to an infamous saloon in the heart of Melbourne and its problematic owner, a man named Colin Ross.

That's all you've got? "Sorry Karen". You are the only one here who deserves that title.

Bob Trenwith

New to me. And I listen to a lot. Alllllll day ar work.

Vanessa Allen

Any time you get to the conviction and then hear Part 2, you know it's never good. Anyone else getting flashbacks to Timothy Evans and John Christie?

Demi

Curious to see where part 2 picks back up...

Alan

They only have one Patreon level and that's $5 USD; where are you living where the exchange rate becomes $8.50/month? They only do one old episode a month and everything else including their new bonus episodes and behind the files is brand new; sorry that's not enough for you but i still think it's a bargain (at $5/month).

AR

They provide, as they say each time, a written list of content warnings for each episode. In the most recent episodes for the last month, the cases have involved a missing elderly man whose ex was the main suspect; a woman being gaslit and framed by her ex and his new gf; an unsolved double homicide where no sexual assault occurred; a grave robber who turned corpses into dolls; and a cold case involving SA. Your characterization that the podcast is only covering child abuse and rape is very inaccurate.

AR

Sorry Karen.

Michelle

Zana

Amazing you’re covering this case! Thank you 🙏

Rosie Overell

Done, thanks.

Casefile True Crime

As if someone "confessing" to another prisoner would go into that much detail.

Bob Trenwith

Casefile - You might want to delete the extra S from her surname in the description (not the title).

Bob Trenwith

Who is forcing you to subscribe here??

Kristin Røe

Casefile has never done this before. And I can find only ONE seven-minute video on Youtube which covers this case. Is today "Say the Opposite Day"? And I don't see an $8.50 tier.

Bob Trenwith

Huh?!

Ophelia Pike

Then unsubscribe, cya.

Zac

$8.50 a month for old rehashed podcasts we’ve listened to before.

Michelle

Good to see a few more Australian cases recently.
