Case 265: Marea Yann

For Marea Yann, two things mattered most in life - family and community. When the 69-year-old was found violently bludgeoned to death in her Healesville home, the small Victorian town was left shaken. It seemed impossible that anyone would want to hurt this doting grandmother and dedicated volunteer worker. But as investigators learned more about Marea’s life, it quickly became clear that Marea had been living in fear of one person in particular.

Where is Connors comment?

I think it’s domestic abuse syndrome or something. Or maybe she felt so guilty for bringing this man into their lives and he ends up killing her mother that she has to deny it or she will succumb to the guilt.

I’m trying to wrap my head around Pauline’s support for her ex husband. I don’t understand this at all.

I can’t see Connors comment now, but I certainly agree. Some cases haven’t been super interesting for me, but I love this teams work, and the writing and narration and pure laying out of the facts and story telling far out weighs my interest. There isn’t a single episode I have not listened too.

Conor, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. However I disagree. I look forward to each episode of Casefile. I follow many podcasts but Casefile is by far, my favorite. I think it is exceptionally well written and presented. While every episode is not all that interesting to me, I still listen because the writing far exceeds that of most other podcasts. I consider the Patreon fee to be money well spent.
