Premium Episode #1 - Karina Holmer

In March 1996, Karina prepared to leave her small village of fewer than 100 people for Dover, which had a population of around 4,000. Although outgoing and social, Karina was quite dependent on her friends and family. By working in America, she hoped to show her parents that she could stand on her own two feet.

Karina was happy and excited as she farewelled her family at the airport. Just before she boarded the plane, she said: “I hope I’m doing the right thing.”

Hi Katarzyna. It is an error! Great pick up. We will edit that.

Such a brutal way to kill someone and then jump throw her in the trash. Hope it gets renewed interest and solved.

I hate unsolved cases for so many reasons. Karina and her family deserve to have this person brought to justice. Also how disturbing was it that they found another set of women's legs and they weren't hers 😬

Amber

Is there another famous case surrounding a town called Dover? Name just sounds familiar for some reason 🤔

“Aww Pare”

Kate Coen

Such an awful case. Just a happy young woman enjoying herself. I hope they are still investigating the case 😔

Totoro

Thank you for doing this case! Absolutely baffling, and so so sad.

AR

Thanks for covering this one! I've heard it brought up in the Massachusetts news every few years and especially around the time genetic genealogy was making waves but never really heard the whole story. My heart goes out to the family.

Demi

This is the big sad

Thank you for doing such a good, measured reporting on this. I'm Swedish and I dare say most people know who Karina Holmer was, this story is still with many of us.

Lina

"The killer and the assailant know each other" - isn't that a mistake around 18:30?

Katarzyna Kudela

Not this week, there will be another Patreon pick next week too!

Casefile True Crime

Was there a vote post for Patreon picks? Thanks
