Case 190: The Butcher Baker (Part 2/2)

Dragging Cindy inside the house, the man took her down some stairs into a wood-panelled basement. What first caught her attention were all the taxidermied animals and hunting trophies that filled the room.

I’m listening to this case now, catching up before the start of the 2022 cases. I can’t be the only person who heard the name Victor Krumm and though of Harry Potter 😳

Not related to the story, but my husband had quite the experience at the Great Alaska Bush Co., trying to get me a hoodie when he was in Anchorage for a NG trip. In regards to the the story, it is disturbing and sickening that he was allowed out or on parole so many times given his crimes and record, all because he was "good on paper" and followed the rules. Makes you wonder how many of these predators are out and about all because they know how to do the time and people please.

Within the first few sentences of Ep. 1 I knew where this was going. I lived in Anchorage in the early 80s and used to patronize this person's bakery. And now many years later we live in a home overlooking the Knik and Matanuska River valleys, a short distance downstream of the old Knik R. bridge. It was really hard listening to the details of the episodes. RIP to all of his victims and may RH burn in hell forever.

Maybe she was blindfolded or lost the memory as a result of trauma

Excellent you guys. Really well done as always.

I watched a documentary about this, but I still don't understand why Cindy would not have been able to describe where the post she was chained to was. In the documentary, the post was in the middle of the basement. If it was behind a hidden door, wouldn't she have been able to describe that the post was recessed?

How have I never heard of this guy?! He was very prolific for so long! Great episodes! Thanks πŸ‘
