Typed Q&A with Casey
Added 2020-09-11 07:22:06 +0000 UTCHello Patreon, it's time again for the typed Q&A with Casey. Whether it be Casefile related, or maybe you want to discuss how good Cam Newton is going to be with the Patriots. Whatever it may be, ask away!

Has your team heard of the crime(s) of Jesse James Hollywood? The movie Alpha Dog is based on that specific crime and everything that happened over something extremely stupid. I'd like to hear you team's take on it

2020-10-05 11:07:43 +0000 UTCHi Sean, this year we have been fortunate to be roughly two months ahead most of the time. In previous years sometimes we would only be ahead 1-2 weeks, so we were barely treading water! The variety is something we have actively worked on this year too. Thank you!

2020-09-14 02:07:17 +0000 UTCHi Casey, how many cases would you have in production at the one time? Eg is your schedule full a few months ahead? Really enjoying the variety in the episodes this year, seems to me you do a far bit of schedule planning in advance. Well worth the money 👍👍

2020-09-13 15:37:17 +0000 UTCHi Joy. I currently don't have any pets, but if I could, I would have a dog.

2020-09-12 23:28:27 +0000 UTCHi Stefan. 1. The series is progressing well, although the lockdown in Victoria has hampered production. I can reveal though that the series on Sarah Macdiarmid will actually be the second podcast from Vikki Petraitis for Casefile Presents. Her first podcast is completed and we are very eager to release it. Hopefully that won't be too far away. 2. I've never considered that no. Not sure if we would ever do that. 3. I go back and forth on this. We have a big series on a big case currently in the early stages of production. So the response to that series will be a good test to see if we will do anymore.

2020-09-12 23:27:36 +0000 UTCCasey, do you have any pets? If you don’t, or if you could, what would you have?

2020-09-12 08:23:37 +0000 UTC1. Any updates on the Casefile presents show on Sarah Macdiarmid? 2. Would you consider turning any cases into audiobooks? Belanglo or an updated version of EARONs would be legendary! 3. I know Casefile doesn’t like doing cases with so much exposure already like Jack the Ripper, but until I read the Wikipedia article I knew nothing besides the surface level “man with knife murdered women in 19th century London”. Same with West Memphis 3 and other cases you’ve covered like Snowtown. That’s why I think Casefile eps on these would be amazing. But that’s my opinion - agree/disagree?

2020-09-12 02:54:36 +0000 UTCHi Sandra, thank you very much. It's a tricky one that one. I certainly see the arguments for both sides and it's something I've internally debated for a long time. The fact that some investigators and experts close to the case are convinced there was a second killer and others are convinced there wasn't - makes it impossible for me to form a solid theory either way.

2020-09-12 01:19:48 +0000 UTCHi Alex. I recommend checking out the Tactical Barbell: Definitive strength training program. I'm not a tactical athlete, nor am I athlete! But you don't have to be. I think it's a solid program. They also have a specific conditioning program and mass program - depending on your goals. Also check out Pavel Tsatsouline. I learnt a lot from his Power to the People video.

2020-09-12 01:16:43 +0000 UTCHi Penni, that was one yes. Others were the TV series Blue Murder (dramatised but based on real events. After watching I read all the books I could find). The book Helter Skelter was another.....It has been so many years since I've read or watched anything to do with the WM3 that I'm not comfortable offering an opinion. Plus I've never done a real deep dive into the case, beyond the documentaries and a book or two, so on that basis alone I wouldn't be comfortable offering an opinion. I'd really want to dive into the primary source materials, (police files, interrogations etc).....maybe one day.

2020-09-12 01:06:39 +0000 UTCHi Ben, there are a couple. There is one Australian case for which we have a script nearly completed, we are just waiting for the court process to finalise. There is also another case we're working on that I can't say anything about at this stage.....but stay tuned.

2020-09-12 00:59:15 +0000 UTCHi Connor, thank you very much. Glad to hear that. It is possible in the future. However we are in partnerships with other producers and creators for most of the Casefile Presents shows (we have numerous others nearing completion), so we have to consider that before any early Patreon release or exclusive Patreon access. But, it's certainly possible moving forward.

2020-09-12 00:57:51 +0000 UTCKudos to you and the team as you are always so respectful of victims & their families in the cases you’ve covered. I’ve just listened to belanglo for the second time & wondering your thoughts on if indeed he did have an accomplice & if any similar crimes were committed after his incarceration. Keep up the good work.

2020-09-11 09:49:42 +0000 UTCI remember you said you first got into true crime because of the West Memphis 3, do you think the stepdad was responsible or a possible third party if not the 3 guys who were convicted???

2020-09-11 08:00:42 +0000 UTCHas there ever been a potential case that you've desperately wanted to cover, but unable to due to lack of resources or legal reasons? If so, what's one that pops into your head?

2020-09-11 07:34:39 +0000 UTCI'm really enjoying the What's Missing series, it is interesting to hear a whole new side of what happens when a family loses one of its family members. Is there a possibility that Patreon members could be able to access ad-free versions of What's Missing or other Casefile Presents series in the future?
