Case 126: Johnny Altinger

On the night of Friday October 3 2008, Canadian couple, Trevor and Marisa, were out walking their dog in the quiet, suburban district of Mill Woods in Edmonton’s south, when a young, dark-haired man suddenly staggered into their path from the direction of a nearby alleyway.

Very odd tale, reminds me of Daniel Wozniak, as far as the eccentric theatre-douche is concerned. Great job everyone involved!! ❤️

Jason Colombo

One of the most engaging episodes for me! Loved it. Great work all involved!

Such a strange story - sad for sure but lucky he got caught quick he would have killed more for sure

Same I was like “wait a minute this sounds familiar....” then I realized it was a Canadian case and Kristy must have covered it (which as you say and I also realized she did). Both episodes are worth a listen imo. It’s a creepy case.

I mean you don’t have to necessarily pit each episode against on another. They can both have different elements you can equally appreciate.

Hey team, at 1:05:25 when Casey says “as for the messages” there’s a weird cut right in the middle of “for the messages”. Just a heads up :)

Issak

Casey saying “sugar mama” made me lol. Awesome! I love the music you guys used around minute 20. Really felt the intensity of just how crazy everything was getting!

Issak

For me it was a bit of a weird episode as not long ago listened to Canadian True Crime do it. Kristy and Casey. I can not rank the two. Big fan of both. I would prefer a joint episode next time please. One off.

Robert Lacey

This episode deeply disturbed me!

Lulu Rae

Actually the best part of the episode 😂

Maya George

Was not expecting Casey to deliver the words "sugar mama" 😂

This is the first Casefile non-continuing episode (i.e. Silk Road, EAR/ONS) where I knew the case, but from a different perspective. When I first heard about it, Gilles was one of the focused survivors on an episode of "I Survived" on Biography channel (now A&E). This was like 7 years ago and it stuck with me ever since. I've tried finding the episode but little is documented of it. Anyway, great episode!

Cameron DelaCerna

I recently watched the episode of 'The Case That Haunts Me' about this, which I would recommend (it's on Hulu) as it has interviews with the detectives that worked the case. This was a very interesting episode of Casefile though! Good job Casefile team!

Captain Flint

Thinks he’s slick like Dexter. Is actually just stupid and useless like the last season of Dexter.

Brenda Wells

How are you differentiating having a curiosity from being a fan? Fans are of course curious

Nick Simon

"Cleaning up"? I hope your room isn't lined with plastic.

Bob Trenwith

I remember hearing about this Dexter imitator. One has to question, are we fans of true crime or do we have some subconscious curiosity ourselves?

Sean Boulden

Just about to start cleaning up the spare room and this couldn't have come out a better time
