2018-05-28 01:12:10 +0000 UTCAnd why I cannot support a death penalty. Something like 10% of death row prisoners have been exonerated via DNA. So if you support DP, you are saying you are happy to kill (at least) one innocent man for every 9 bad guys. That is monstrous.

2018-05-28 00:42:03 +0000 UTCEmily, check out The Apex & The Abyss. She just released an episode on Columbine and it’s excellent.

2018-05-28 00:40:02 +0000 UTCIf there are no other questions I best be getting back to the script I’m working on 👍 Thank you for joining me everyone. We thank you very much for your support here on Patreon. It is deeply appreciated.

2018-05-27 23:56:17 +0000 UTCThank you very much Mikki. Much appreciated. You too 👍

2018-05-27 23:49:45 +0000 UTCThank you so much for all of your hard work. You really make this podcast one in a billion. Know that we, as fans, appreciate all of your hard work and are so thrilled you’ve made this a more permanent gig. Enjoy your night!

2018-05-27 23:49:13 +0000 UTC*Proved he was innocent FFS
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:48:37 +0000 UTCYep. That was criminal the way they manipulated that evidence. The evidence proved he was in Covent FFS. But what they revealed in court only added weight to him being guilty. So wrong.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:48:15 +0000 UTCThat's what makes the Molseed/Kiszko case so amazing; I think even people who fervently believe in the Blackstone maxim would have still convicted Kiszko knowing only what was provided at the first trial.
Nick P
2018-05-27 23:47:15 +0000 UTCI can only say that’s a possibility at this stage. No immediate plans.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:46:32 +0000 UTCCheers brother. Have a good week. Tall to ya next time
Adam Murphy
2018-05-27 23:45:06 +0000 UTCAnd not rely on assumptions. And stereotypes. Etc etc.

2018-05-27 23:44:57 +0000 UTCThank you.
Mariya Cassin
2018-05-27 23:44:34 +0000 UTCThe idea of an innocent person being in jail makes me ill. That’s why it important to really ensure there is enough evidence to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. And not rely on maybes and probables and flimsy evidence.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:44:31 +0000 UTCI think I’ve asked this before but have you ever debated doing a story on Victoria Stafford from Woodstock Ontario Canada? I’ve seen a few podcasts done on it, but they can’t quite pull off the same respect you bring to a case. And it’s so tragic it makes the other shows impossible to listen to
Mikki
2018-05-27 23:43:51 +0000 UTCHi Amanda. Possibly. Would just be a matter of finding the right format/the right idea.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:43:16 +0000 UTCThere's an old legal maxim from Sir William Blackstone: "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer". Do you believe this to be true?
Nick P
2018-05-27 23:42:44 +0000 UTCI’ve got nothing. I don’t know that there will be any worth getting.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:42:02 +0000 UTChave you ever thought about doing a non traditional type tour? Instead of you revealing your identity when reading the stories, have pre-selected fans read from a story you write? Or perform behind a screen like dj shadow haha Just a passing thought... could be cool.
Amanda Gearhart
2018-05-27 23:41:52 +0000 UTCHi Noreen. I hope it’s not too bad
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:41:15 +0000 UTCIt was good to record something off the cuff without a script and just go with it. That is an exact snap shot of how I felt when the news broke. Such an amazing development 👍
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:40:15 +0000 UTCHi Mikki. Nope we are still here 🍾
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:39:25 +0000 UTCI just prefer it that way. I Never wanted the show to be about a host figure or personality. Just wanted the stories to be the focus.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:39:07 +0000 UTCAny hot tips on some cash cows??

2018-05-27 23:39:00 +0000 UTCAlso one that appears on our possibles list!
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:37:52 +0000 UTCThat could be a possibility. Wouldn’t rule it out.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:37:39 +0000 UTCYour response to the arrest of the EAR/ONS was absolutely hilarious. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve listened to the first minute of that episode. Thank you for keeping it so light hearted.
Mikki
2018-05-27 23:37:14 +0000 UTCI really hope I’m not too late to the party! Hello from Ontario Canada!
Mikki
2018-05-27 23:35:17 +0000 UTCThank you Ryan
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:33:20 +0000 UTCSorry if this has been asked before! But how come you choose to remain anonymous? Personally I am a fan of the idea as it brings extra mystery to the podcast :) but at the same time it would be awesome to know who you are

2018-05-27 23:33:16 +0000 UTCWill be back next week Laura 👍
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:33:12 +0000 UTCI think that’s right about soccer participation because lots of kids start off in soccer before going to AFL, Rugby, Touch Football or staying in Soccer.
Sarah Lennon
2018-05-27 23:33:02 +0000 UTCI have both as well. I’m thinking of punting Jake for the origin period. I am sensing reduced minutes.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:32:36 +0000 UTCYour safe with Cherry I reckon. The Turbo brothers are a sure thing selection though I think
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:32:17 +0000 UTCAdditionally, Israel Keyes is another fascinating perpetrator. I live in Alaska and the FBI just released new taped interviews.
Rachel Franzen
2018-05-27 23:32:09 +0000 UTCIs there any possibility of doing a deep dive into Jodi Arias? I’ve not heard a great podcast on that case yet. I think that you guys did a great job of diving into EAR/ONS and I think it would be great. There’s a lot more to the relationship of Travis Alexander and Jodi that really seems to have been unexplored or that has been covered with lots of contradiction.
Rachel Franzen
2018-05-27 23:30:52 +0000 UTCWe would consider cobering that one day. Yes
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:30:07 +0000 UTCThat is a tough one. Smarter minds then mine would have to debate that!
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:29:20 +0000 UTCHi Nick. Personally I don’t enjoy the game of soccer at all. Too much diving. BUT when it’s World Cup year - I love nothing more then jumping on that bandwagon!! So yeah I am looking forward to the cup. As far as where it ranks. In terms of commercial coverage - AUstralian rules football and rugby league are the two biggest sports here by far in the winter. Then cricket in the summer. But I have a feeling soccer might have the largest participation rate - don’t quote me on that though.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:28:38 +0000 UTCAlso, just want to say well done on case 84 👍
Ryan Beattie
2018-05-27 23:26:36 +0000 UTCSeems I may have missed out. This is usually when I listen to Casefile, late on a Sunday, driving. I’m really missing you this week. Cheers! 💕
Laura Carlson
2018-05-27 23:26:19 +0000 UTCHi Ben. The ads you hear during the show is what made that possible. This is something I’d like to do more of - get on the ground and conduct face to face interviews. Actually see the locations. Maybe in the future.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:25:32 +0000 UTCHaven’t actually read that one yet. I bought I’ll be gone in the dark two hours before I got the news they had him in custody. It’s super good, 10/10 recommend.
Amanda Gearhart
2018-05-27 23:25:22 +0000 UTCHave you guys considered covering Stephanie Scott’s case?
Emcogo
2018-05-27 23:24:01 +0000 UTCThat’s the one that stands out
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:23:59 +0000 UTCI thought Helter Skeltor was pretty good.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:23:52 +0000 UTCBook Fatal Vision by Joe Mcginniss covers the controversy.
Scott goodwyn
2018-05-27 23:23:45 +0000 UTCHi!
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:23:18 +0000 UTCGenerally we don’t cover anything that has a trial pending. Once the trial is sorted - good To go.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:23:09 +0000 UTCWould you be for everyone’s DNA being held on a data base? Would solve a shit load of crimes over night and act as a deterrent for future crimes.
Ryan Beattie
2018-05-27 23:22:31 +0000 UTCHi Mariya. They have been. It was essentially an open finding. Unable to determine if they are deceased or still alive.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:22:29 +0000 UTCAhoy from Sunny England and congrats on going full time with Casefile! You've mentioned before that yourself and/or producers have flown overseas to conduct interviews and research which shows excellent dedication. Who or what subsidies these trips if you don't mind me asking?
Ben O'Connell
2018-05-27 23:22:26 +0000 UTCAre you excited about the Socceroos next month? Where does soccer/football rank in the Aussie sports scene?
Nick P
2018-05-27 23:22:26 +0000 UTCHi Scott. That one doesn’t ring a bell off the top of my head
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:21:56 +0000 UTCFavorite true crime book?
Amanda Gearhart
2018-05-27 23:21:30 +0000 UTCHaha thanks Amanda.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:21:26 +0000 UTCHi Katherine I haven’t been following that one.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:21:08 +0000 UTCHi!!! :)
Laura Carlson
2018-05-27 23:20:10 +0000 UTCHow long do you have to wait before you can cover a case? Do you ever see current cases come up in the news and think that it looks like an important/fascinating case to cover for Casefile?
Monica Hanns
2018-05-27 23:20:09 +0000 UTCHi Emily. Was that’s a possibility. Nothing in the immediate plans, but certainly possible in the future.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:19:14 +0000 UTCI'm fucked if Tom & Jake and Cherry get selected. There goes my core.
Adam Murphy
2018-05-27 23:18:53 +0000 UTCHi Kim 👋
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:18:15 +0000 UTCIt’s more recent.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:17:59 +0000 UTCAnd the trusty old guitar and amp too - to go along with the posters. Can’t forget that.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:17:39 +0000 UTCHaha that’s a good one. I’d replace my current spare room with my room when I was a teenager. Punk rock posters everywhere. Great memories 👌
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:17:00 +0000 UTCYeah I’ve only got about 10 playing this week. I didn’t start with Smith this year and that worked out for me. I’ll bring him in next week. I brought Crichton in last week as I didn’t think he would get picked for origin. Looks like he is now. Spewing. I’m going to be short.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:15:28 +0000 UTCGood morning. Have the results of the McDougall/Popic inquest been made public?
Mariya Cassin
2018-05-27 23:15:21 +0000 UTCEver consider covering the Jeffrey Macdonald case?
Scott goodwyn
2018-05-27 23:14:49 +0000 UTCMorning Emily. Thank you
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:14:17 +0000 UTCI only listened to that song. We actually tried to secure licensing to use the song at the end. Never got off the ground though.
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:13:59 +0000 UTCAre you gonna make many changes throughout origin? Stoked Smith isn't playing. He should keep the points rolling in for me.
Adam Murphy
2018-05-27 23:13:53 +0000 UTCPaul Holes is saint.
Amanda Gearhart
2018-05-27 23:13:37 +0000 UTCIt was actually through Paul we covered the Eric Coy case, after we spoke to him for our EARONS series. Haven’t spoken to him since the arrest though - I think he would be far to busy at the moment!!
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:12:59 +0000 UTCAround 1150 odd at the moment. Not too bad considering Fifita was a late out and I had to scramble for a replacement
Casefile True Crime
2018-05-27 23:11:45 +0000 UTCI just wanted to say that I love the podcast and I appreciate your in depth descriptions and research. I can’t listen to this podcast when my boyfriend is around though because every time he annoyingly says “razor blades” with an awful Aussie accent. We’re Americans.. I’m sorry hahaha
Amanda Gearhart
2018-05-27 23:11:20 +0000 UTCAre you following the Larrimah (Northern Territory) case? Missing person Paddy Moriarty with the suspect being one of the other 11 residents of Larrimah.
Katharine
2018-05-27 23:11:10 +0000 UTCMy question was around if you would look into doing more cases on shootings in the US? I haven’t come across one on columbine but it would be interesting to listen to
Emcogo
2018-05-27 23:10:27 +0000 UTCJust dropping by to say hellllllooo to everyone 👋
Kim Talbot
2018-05-27 23:10:06 +0000 UTCAny hints as to the episodes coming in June?
Nick P
2018-05-27 23:09:43 +0000 UTCI heard this question asked to someone before and it's become a favorite! If you could replace a room in your current home with one from your childhood, which one would it be and why? The room would be exactly the same as it was back then :)
Krysta Bonneville
2018-05-27 23:08:36 +0000 UTCMorning!! Absolutely love your podcast. It actually makes me look forward to the Monday morning commute to work.

2018-05-27 23:08:09 +0000 UTCHow much Bay City Rollers did you listen to during researching the Lesley Molseed case?
Jake Walker
2018-05-27 23:08:03 +0000 UTCCruisy. I had Dufty as captain so super coach should be pretty healthy this week! How's your team looking?
Adam Murphy
2018-05-27 23:07:52 +0000 UTCi realized you spoke with paul holes during the eric coy case--have you been communicating re: ear/ons?
