I agree. This one is respectful, focuses on truth and facts, actually investigates (!) and doesn't sensationalize. I see casefile as investigatory or historical, depending on whether the crime has been solved. Journalism more than entertainment. Having one anonymous narrator, instead of voice actors, is an important part of that. The music/sound is also well done-it becomes part of the narrative so well that I don't really notice it, which is important for avoiding sensationalism.

I did like the first season of Serial and I was interested in this genre ... back to radio shows and Ann Rule, etc. It elicits an emotion of wanting to learn to prevent the development of these personalities and tragedies in the future. As a victim's family, I would choose whether I wanted to listen to the details and I would choose podcasts who display respect for the process. I don't like the cutesy dialogue or emphasis on sensationalism in some other podcasts. That's why I chose to support only one, this one.

I loved true crime long before Serial. In fact, I'm not a big fan of Serial.
