There would still be somethings she doesn’t know or understand if they don’t have them in her world. Not knowing what a candle is or ever having encountered a human, I think the reactions make sense. He also said that the caves aren’t well known to outsiders, only to him because he’s used to navigating them. Even then, his dad left him a map. He might just have a good sense of direction, and it seemed like he was familiar with some parts of the cave. Superstition regarding far away lands is also not uncommon for the time period imo. It’s not perfect but I don’t think it was THAT far off in terms of accuracy. Also it’s an audio, so they have to narrate their actions. It’s a feature in a lot of other audios too. It’s just so we have an idea of what’s going on and can picture it more clearly. You have to narrate all the actions in some sense.

Even in a faux medieval world, inconsistencies like using modern language or objects (an aquarium) make suspension of disbelief difficult. In the medieval world something like a wine butt could hold a full sized person, for example. Internal inconsistencies like her learning fluent English after two days but he still talks to her like she's a child? Describing the land beyond the sea as a terrible and deadly place, but then easily chartering passage there? Oh, and the caves...if they are so well known and easily navigable in the dark, why would the father hide something important there, and would smugglers or pirates use such a commonly known location?! Y'all need a history nerd on staff. I volunteer as tribute.

What I truly appreciate about this story is that the mermaid listener and Robinson aren’t speaking the same language and it makes perfect sense! It makes sense that a mystical, powerful being couldn’t speak a human language. It makes her seem like someone who lives so far away. And I find it amazing how you made her so innocent and so adorably curious at the same time. I’ve never adored a listener’s personality before, so I really appreciate how you wrote her. Keep it up! OW) and use of the word tits…felt like it didn’t fit the theme/time period the audio was aiming for. Just a personal opinion. The script was a lot of fun and the fact that there were awkward moments was very refreshing in a sea (badum tsss!) of perfectly scripted moments that a lot of fantasy scripts have. I’m always a sucker for a language barrier. Absolutely loved it here! And the lore! Like, the world building was so interesting! I’m, also, always a fan of torturous lust. So funny but lowkey realistic because the Mermaid has never seen a man before - not knowing how Robinson's dad met the mermaid etc. The scene when she examines at his face, calling him 'Beard', and [when naked] keeps taking his coat off is so comical. I also love the journal entries. Loved the spicy scene *chef's kiss* 😘👌 Robinson is so cautious but, in the end, couldn't help being drawn and show 'light' possessiveness when she leaves him, but he pulls her back and claims she is his *internally screaming* Part 2 please!
