Weekly progress report #170

Something your Blake might often think about.

Hello! Time for our regular progress report. Sorry for not many updates last week, I was very busy with the development. Had almost free week and had to make the most out of it. The progress is good, but unfortunately my poor planning strikes again: I'm stuck on the visit to the city with Vanessa, because I just crammed way too many events into it, and I still have to make the second half of it that takes place in Deliverance. Ugh! All in all, I will probably need another week and a half to finish the demo, which is fair enough with how late I started it. At least, it should be up to my usual standards.

But what I really like about this demo is that we finally get movement in Blake's careers. Up until this point they were mostly time-fillers, excuses to see Blake in a maid uniform or a mini-skirt, but there's some important stuff coming up, so you better pay attention. Plus, sometimes you'll have to decide whether you want to have fun or get some important information. I'm enjoying writing this stuff.

Can you give me some examples of those parts if you please? Whenever there's a jump, I always add «see below to continue» and try to give you the pointers of where to look next.

That and also there are parts that skip large chunks of the walkthrough, and it becomes confusing to know where to go from there.

Well, for something this complex, it's a bit hard to compress everything into a neat and short package. I agree that the walkthrough is somewhat confusing and definitely not perfect, but I don't know how to simplify it. Because every route can be combined with several other routes. Describing all those will just bring us to the previous point. And ignoring them will confuse you even more. All I can say is that I'm planning on expanding the codex page, so that should help to a certain degree.

I must admit that I haven't played thoroughly Shattered since 0.17. And still then I played once slowly and 2-3 times quickly. I'm still cheering you on, but one thing I'd really like is maybe a cleanup for all the various paths. I often get lost at where to go from one point to the next depending on my choices. The walkthrough almost needs a walkthrough. I'd suggest maybe a walkthrough for each path to make things less confusing at some point. Maybe once you reach the last update of Shattered. That would really help things a lot I feel.
