A very important question for all of you

Hello. I'd like to talk to you about something really important, and something I've been delaying for quite some time. I'll be wordy, but I'll include a short summary at the end of this post. Writing all this is pretty unpleasant, but I just have to get this out of the way.

So, let's start at the very beginning. Ever since I started this Patreon I've been pumping out content every month without a break. No matter what, you could always expect a chunk of playable content at the beginning of every month. But it's been more than two years in this pace, and I'm starting to slowly burning out. This, however, wouldn't be an issue by itself (I'm able to recover my inspiration pretty quickly), but there's something else to keep in mind.

We're now close to the release of the third, and final demo for v0.15. Which is going to happen somewhere in early February: the shortest month of the year. Given that I'll have to also polish the public version, test the damn thing, find all the bugs, and typos, and make the walkthrough… This last push before the full release will eat a good part of the month, leaving me with barely any time to work on the next demo. Which, again, wouldn't be an issue by itself, but…

The next v0.16 will be HUGE. Just like v0.13 it will be essentially two completely separate storylines: for Blake in the city, and in Deliverance. New characters, new locations, a ton of events to come up with (and to create) — I think, you can already see my point. Two mere weeks in February wouldn't be enough to create anything of significance. At least not without rushing things way too much, which, you guess it, wouldn't be an issue, since I got used to it long time ago, but…

I've been neglecting a lot of aspects of my life lately. Including my health, which isn't great. I keep delaying a lot of important things because I simply don't have time for anything. It's work, work, work… without a breather. Shit's tough sometimes. It really is.

So, with all that said, I'm asking you for a permission essentially. Would you be okay with not getting the first demo for v0.16 in March, and letting me use this February to restore myself a little? Mind you, I won't be completely slacking. I'll be posting new polls, new pictures, and progress reports as usual — just so you would know that everything is fine — but I won't be doing any script work (the most time-consuming part of the process) until March. Is this okay with you? Or would you prefer me still giving you something playable in the early March — as much as I could finish? This is important for me because I'm kinda dependent on Patreon, as embarrassing as it might sound. You guys are really helping me going, and if you say no, I'm not gonna argue. Which is why there is a poll below. Please, do tell me what you think. And if you're willing to stop your subscription for the entire February (or completely), that's understandable, although a bit sad for me :) So. What do you think?

TL/DR: I'm asking you if it's okay for me to take February off, and only post pictures/polls without releasing new demo in early March, you will get it one month later.

You have worked much more onyour project than other Patreons Owners that I subscribe to and that take over a year or two to just do what you do in a month. You deserve a break lasting AT LEAST a month. :)

Thank you everyone for your votes, and comments! You really made my day… for the next month at least :)

Now that, as of this post, there are 77 patrons telling you to take a damn break and recharge your batteries, will you actually do it? Say yes. ;)

You are one of those rare creators that puts out consistent updates. Take a break!!

Brandon Aaronson

You update more often than my iPhone apps. Seriously, we are all good. Take time. But don’t forget us or I will personally start a mob. Lmao. Take care of yourself. Your work is amazing. Thanks for your efforts

Take the break, health is far more important.

Greg Taylor

Take care of you first!

Leslie Campbell

Calm down, mate. You are way more active than most artists anyway. Take a break.

Come on! Why even ask? Your life and well-being (both physical and mental) come before everything else. I think I am speaking for many of us when I say that we do not doubt your honesty, openness, and dedication. I'm very happy with the huge amount of content you're pushing out, but it's clear you're pushing yourself way, way too hard. I really appreciate it, but I'd rather have you healthy and happy than getting a large amount of content. The fact that you're so transparent about everything (regular progress reports and such) as well as this, speaks volumes of your character. Please, for our sake, ease off a bit and take a breather.

Your well being should come first, Yeda.
