MARCH UPDATE 2/2 I WAS BORN TO WORK RETAIL

Welp that's it for the contract! I didn't take the Webtoons offer for it to become a Webtoons Original. I felt like it was limiting my freedom in the comic and a lot of my peers agree that it was the right choice to take. We'll see what comes out of this, but for now, I Was Born To Work Retail is still independant!

Redesign Plans

If you've noticed I've recently been retooling IWBTWR's main cast. This is mostly to see how they'll look like in more detail.

Jenny's jacket is altered so that she has more of a motorcycle look to her. I also plan on redesigning her helment so it looks like a fishbowl.

Zoey looks completely evil in the redesign and that's not really my intention lmao. I'll do some more iterations so that she looks more chill and lkess like an antagonist.

Comic Plans

There are three arcs in production, I'll lay them out in summary. Please give me your thoughts on them! These three arcs are going to happen all at once, and connect in the end.

Jenny's arc

A wheelchair bound girl with a raspy cough frequents the store. She looks interesting. She looks like she has her problems all sorted out with the cigs she's been buying. Maybe those cigs will work out for you too. Just relax. Take a break. You want to smoke.

Zoey's arc

You are part of the Jockey Club. A club for the HK elite set up by the British in the 70s. You did not ask for this. You did not want this. You have a role to play in this world. Yet you let commoners into your own. The people in the cameras aren't happy. You can talk to all of them. They see everything.

Manager's arc

You have worked for this company for a decade. You have been nothing but loyal to this company. Yet two competeing branches have an eye on your prime store location. They are better workers than you. That baby formula promotion? You failed. The company is not happy. You should defend your territory.

Right now the current major arc will be the manager's arc

All of these arcs have a connection. All of these arcs will merge soon. Or not. Maybe ill change my mind on a whim lmao. However this is the current direction for the comic!

Please tell me your current thoughts on these arcs!! I'd love to have some insight on them!

On another note I'm currently experimenting with my own art style!

With much more detailed rendering. Was thinking of implementing this style into the comic for key panels. Like a large shot of a shopping mall, or a close up on Jenny's shocked expression!
