Joe fingers Joyce, prototype pencils, plus unused strip

This is a version of the recent Joe/Joyce artwork that I drew in late 2023! This is the original version, with hand OVER the sweatervest, Joe in his purple luau shirt, and Joyce in boots! I never inked or colored it, and it sat on my computer like this for a while as Hard Drive Smut #482.
I also had a hand-under-sweatervest version, but still with the boots and luau shirt. (see above)

At some point I decided to canonize it and then finish it for you folks after the strip ran on the site. While setting it up, though, I realized Joe couldn't be in his luau shirt. He'd be dressing more nicely, as per Joyce's prodding in the story. So he got redrawn into the collared shirt and vest.

Joyce kept her boots, though. But I'd written them doing all this up in her bed! BOOTS SHOULD NOT BE IN BED. But I like Joyce in her boots! It's, like, part of her character model, like Charlie Brown's zigzag shirt. It's weird when they're not there! Oh, the tug-of-war between Like Boots and Boots Should Not Be In Bed.

and in fact, the boots remained in the strip itself until the day before it published, when I threw up my hands and said FINE OKAY i'll redraw it to be without boots, before everyone in the world inevitably yells at me

(assume she kicked them off once she'd ascended the ladder)

i also altered the lighting in the final version, because i'd picked up a few tricks in my year-long buffer

anyway that's the story of how i canonized some hard drive smut, but at the expense of luau shirt and boots, and i guess also copious squirting, jeez joyce
