Weekly progress report #11

Going somewhere, sexy?

Hey! Good day to you. It's time for another progress report.

Since last week I've released the new public version, I've spent the first half of it waiting for bug reports. There weren't many, but some things had to be tweaked. Then we had Blake's hairstyle poll, so I had to wait until it ends to start making Blake's renders. Of course, I was able to render pictures without Blake in the meantime, but as you can imagine there's not that many of those. All in all, 16 renders this week. It's alright, I'll speed up the things next week, when I clear some free time from my regular job.

As for the text part of v0.5, the first draft is almost written, but I'm not satisfied with it. First of all, it's somewhat short. I need five or six more events for it to have as many days as v0.4, so I have to come up with those. There might be some event polls later on, but no promises. It's also worth noting that due to story reasons we won't physically have Melinda and Samuel in the next update. Blake is now living in a different environment and he has to get used to that. I also won't introduce many new characters (we have more than enough already for me to handle). I have two planned so far: one male and one female. The female one will be more prominent, but they're basically links of the same route, so here's that. I'll show you the sprites next week. Expect Coco and Tanya or Claude and Troy to return (this time for both paths), to spend more time with Iris, Rebecca, and especially Suya, and get introduced to several new locations where Blake will become a regular.

I've been fairly quiet for some time, and there's a good reason for that. But next week I'll try to make a new post every day with some teasers, hints, and maybe polls. The problem with polls is that they work as indirect spoilers, and I don't like that. But if I'll word them vaguely, you might not even understand what you're voting for. It's something for me to think about, and I'll try my best.

All in all, v0,5 is a completely new chapter in Blake's story and I'm very excited about it. Hope you too!
