Devlog #3

Dear friends,

It's Friday, time to summarize what's been accomplished during this week.

First of all, Blood Raiders v0.1.3B has been released to Patreon supporters, and the previous v0.1.3A has become a new public game version. v0.1.3B is all about the 2D graphics overhaul of all characters, pics, and art scenes in the game. It took time and effort to polish the visuals, but the result is worth it, and 2D art now matches the artistic vision of the game. Both versions are available on Discord for patrons and usual members

Such a massive project enhancement led to the reworking of the game's store page on Steam. All screenshots, headers, and banners have been changed to match the upgraded art style. The trailer of the game has been updated as well.

A word about the automated quest management system. It's been added and then removed right before v0.1.3B release due to critical errors. Why this system is a big deal: right now all quests are being hand-made, which means a tedious process of adding the same functions over and over again.
The new system allows making all quests in special menus, which gives convenient access to all characters and NPCs, and it helps to assign quests and their conditions to different characters on the fly. Such a system remains almost unnoticed by players because quests just work, but it's a great time-saver for the devs. Unfortunately, at this stage, it remains unstable and produces game-breaking errors. For now, it requires additional polishing to bring a satisfying gaming experience later on.

What's next: v0.1.3C update. This one will finally bring a new exploration map called "The Burning Caves", and introduce your first party member, and new enemies. The goal of the protagonist on this new map is to find and bring Inquisitor to the Gatekeeper, but certain issues will make the task harder than expected. The player will participate in a chain of quests, which will lead to a battle with a mini-boss.

The production cycle of the game continues, and for now, I wish you all a nice and relaxing weekend. Thank you greatly for supporting the development of Blood Raiders! Every bit helps to deliver the best adult isometric RPG. Keep playing and stay tuned!
