Written history is the last ~6k years, but most of the early stuff is dubious king lists and such, so the distinction is a bit arbitrary. Most pertinently, the way that people around the world lived their lives didn't substantially change because a few people in Egypt started writing down what dynasty it was and a few people in China started doing divination with pig scapulae. It just means we have a bit better of a window into the world around the few people that were writing things down.

2022-11-28 21:11:13 +0000 UTCLike Austin, I read an aggressive amount of books per year. Even reading an average of 250 books a year, it has taken me 12 years to reach a total of over 3000 books read. Doing the math, it also turns out that it would take me another 25-28 years of the same pace to reach 10,000 books read in a lifetime.
