Growth RPG V0.2.2 Poll
Added 2020-11-05 19:46:55 +0000 UTCI'm still working on the new dungeon system still a lot of logistics to figure out and content to make for it, I want to be able to release it by the end of this year.
I think before I can make companions I need to set up a system that will support custom character models. Right now every NPC has something like 13 skeletal meshes, which is a bit ridiculous and I assume this is causing a bit of slowdown. The player needs this many because of all the parts it can switch out, but NPCs don't, because they won't change body type during a fight. So to solve this I could do custom NPC meshes that would be only 1 skeleton, possibly lower poly and more natural looking.
For custom character models I'll make a system that can use one skin, and eventually I could eventually get other people's OCs into the game.
Minigames are short little activities that result in growth. They could either be permanent or temporary attribute increases.
Sound Design. People have been asking for sounds for quite a while and I've been waiting till I had some free time but that never came, so I decided to put it up for a vote.
If you have any suggestions send me a message or leave it in the comments

27th. Its always the last one of the month. That dungeon should be fixed with the latest patch, the second hotfix broke it. The custom models are mainly for optimizations sake. I am getting way higher framerates with NPCs that only have one skeleton. Its not too difficult either, way more difficult to add onto the existing model. I am not sure what you mean by small characters not fitting in though.

2020-11-16 22:51:59 +0000 UTCWhen will the new version of the game be released? version 21 and its fixes, to put it mildly, is broken, in the last fix it broke the dungeon, I can't go there, I fall under the map. I think that you need to deal with obvious bugs, and pay attention to changes in the size of the battleground, small characters do not fit into it. Adding soundtrack would be interesting. But I don't see the point of adding custom models yet, it's difficult, and in general it will slow down development

2020-11-16 22:44:10 +0000 UTCI could definitely do that. The town needs to be filled out more.

2020-11-12 02:16:26 +0000 UTCit sounds intresting to have companions along side you. i have a suggestion for that, if you do, make a adventurers/mercenary guild hall portal in the town then just like the alchemist home you can have a seperate room. with companions to hire. or you can have the player custom make a companion with the already pre-made body types and give em weapons like example: a bigbarian with a blesser and a shield. food for thought.

2020-11-11 20:45:28 +0000 UTCI am trying to think of a system to decide what models I will add to the game. I think I'll end up having a vote, and not charge people for the model, since I just want to use it for the game.

2020-11-08 21:11:43 +0000 UTCCustom characters would be nice, but then you'd have to have the money to get the models/rigging done no?

2020-11-06 08:01:35 +0000 UTCdon't really care much for custom characters tbh, I'd like a minigames the most because in fights player comes out much larger than AI, some growth competitions that look closer in size would be perfect

2020-11-06 07:06:34 +0000 UTCI should probably speed up the base growth. I originally meant you to cap out at around 100 for stats but its a lot higher. And I could also easily implement something for holding a button down to speed up growth.

2020-11-06 04:03:18 +0000 UTCI would still like a way to increase how long it takes to grow when watching the "grow from beginning" animation. Instead of requesting a slider, how about a minigame that only effects the "grow from beginning" animation and has a reverse effect check box in the settings menu. When the box is left unchecked, growth rate is the same as it currently is and the minigame lets the player impede the growth, causing it to take longer. When the box is checked, growth rate is 2 or 3 times slower than normal and the minigame lets the player accelerate the growth, causing the growth to about as much time as it currently does if the player succeeds in the minigame. This type of implementation will give players agency during an animation; while also, letting players slow down the growth speed with a check box and ignore the minigame if they wish.
