Added 2024-07-08 14:26:56 +0000 UTCThe hurricane veered right at the last minute, and the eye went directly over me. I know that doesn't sound like a good thing, but it actually is. Right of the eye is the dirty side with super intense wind and tons of rain. The wind got really bad, and it was scary for a while, but the power held strong and the creek out back stopped short of flooding. It is bursting at the seams though. They cut the power for a couple of hours once we were in the eye so they could fix damaged transformers and whatnot. Power is back on, the house is okay with only slight damage, and everyone is safe and healthy. Thanks for all the well wishes! I'll spend today cleaning up, and I'll get back to writing tomorrow.
