For those of you who weren't around last year, this is where I give myself awards but also sneakily get some great feedback on what people really liked in the past year and might want more of. It's also just for fun and to coincide with the real awards season.
I'm wondering if we do a stream this month for the awards for a real live show feel? What do you think?
Here's a Google Form to vote in several categories, and nominate up to 5 audios for the Best Overall Audio category, which we'll then vote on.
Voting for this closes in about two weeks, when we'll vote on the Overall Best Audio! There's some new categories too...

Finally submitted my votes! It’s so funny how I kept revisiting old audios, and every time I listened to one, I ended up changing my entire ballot lol. Maybe next year we should do something like giving each audio its own award! The genre category was brutal - it took me forever to pick a winner, and I genuinely feel bad for the rest of the nominees :((( Anyway, hopefully February is finally being kinder to August, and I cannot wait to celebrate the winners (and all the incredible audios)!!!

I have one note in my notes app where I’ll jot down any moments/lines/impressions after my first listen + during a second or third listen to an audio. Then I take those ideas and formulate that jumble into a coherent comment in my “AITW brain dump” Google Doc! haha my one “rule” for myself is that I don’t write anything down *during* my first listen to any audio. No shade at all to anyone who does, but I prefer to be immersed for that initial experience and not concerned with capturing my thoughts! it’s been such an unexpected treat to flex my analytical writing muscles as a means to appreciate the work here!

Because this is all about celebrating the work, too, maybe there isn’t the same concern about picking things apart + “ruining the magic” that could factor in more with commentary-style content, where folks may want to opt out if they avoid any inside baseball stuff for the sake of their suspension of disbelief! As Gabriella said, more fun fact than in-depth analysis.
