Charging Change: Per-Video to Monthly

Hello! As the title suggests, I’ve updated the Patreon payment schedule from per-video to monthly.

This has been planned for and talked about for half a year, but I finally made the change right before uploading Part 2 of the GPZ series. I mentioned the change in that post, but I figured making a separate one stating this clearly would be best.

For the people that have just joined and never experienced the per-video payment, thank you for joining and please ignore this post haha.

Why the change?

Well, my video schedule used to be whenever I finished what I was working on and whenever I had edited that into something that was worth sharing. Sometimes that would be a few weeks and other times it would be half a year.

With the next few projects of mine not being complete restorations that take three years to finish, there’s less tedious, time-sucking work involved, allowing the videos I’m releasing to come out much quicker. The schedule I’m trying to stick to is a video every other week.

So instead of charging you twice: one video released on the 6th and another one released on the 20th for example, I’m just charging one time for the whole month.

Doesn’t that mean less income?

Yes and no. It’s less income than it would be if I kept charging per video, but it’s more income than it has been in the past due to infrequent posting. As much as I want to earn enough money to sustain this as a career, I do not want to suck all the money I can from people who are going out of their way to support me. I love you guys and do not want to take advantage of you.

Please consider changing your pledges!

I know I have the Patreon pledge at the minimum of $1, but there have been so many people pledge way more than that. I understand that it was probably done because of the infrequent videos and giving that much hasn’t been an issue, but now it might be. If you need to lower your pledges or outright leave because it’s no longer in your budget, please please please do that. Anything more than 0 is already more than you had to. You guys take care of yourselves.
