Tzodron - Monster

🔐 The keys beckon, and with them, a revelation veiled since time immemorial... 🔐

🗝️🏺🔒 In the untold recesses of the cosmos, a mystery suspended amidst astral echoes has perplexed the sages and adventurers of many worlds - Azularia. Subsumed by the spiraling sands of time and adorned with otherworldly, perplexing structures that defy the mundane coherence of space, this city withholds secrets that tantalize the curious and haunt the dreamers.

Azularia, distinguished by its iridescent, esoteric architecture that collapses into and out of itself in a continuous, mind-bending loop, is seldom navigated by wanderers brave enough to traverse the astral voids. Within its maddeningly twirling avenues and hovering edifices, a silent ambiance pervades, disturbed only by the tranquil drift of astral winds.

At the cryptic heart of Azularia stands an ancient vault, its form pulsating gently with cryptic, arcane patterns that dance and weave in a timeless performance. The echoes of bygone astral travelers suggest that this vault secures secrets - perhaps knowledge or power from realms inconceivable, securely sealed from the grasp of ordinary beings.

Guarding Azularia are the Tzodron, whose looming, sandy, faceless visages watch over the celestial city, their origins and purposes shrouded in the same mysteries that envelop the long-forgotten entities that presumably erected these walls. Aged legends whisper of keys, mystic artifacts contained within the silent Tzodron, integral to the enigmatic puzzle that Azularia has posed for eons.

It's whispered among star-touched sages that those who dare to navigate the astral maze of Azularia, confronting or eluding the Tzodron, and amass all the hidden keys, shall unravel the vault’s tightly bound secrets. While the contents of the vault remain shrouded in speculative myth, some prophecize unearthly power, while others fear the unleashing of forgotten cataclysms.

Journeys to Azularia and their subsequent tales are sparse, with explorers either never emerging from its celestial webs or returning with minds forever scarred, speaking in bizarre, unknown tongues of the haunting silence and the eternal, observing eyes of the guardians. 🗝️🏺🔒

Traits

Legendary Resistance (2/Day).

If the Tzodron fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Immutable Form. The Tzodron is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Magic Resistance. The Tzodron has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Key Guardian. Within the Tzodron’s core exists a mystical key. When the Tzodron is reduced to 0 hit points, the key becomes exposed. Creatures within 60 feet of the Tzodron when it's destroyed must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 18) or be compelled to use their movement toward the key on their next turn, doing everything they can to possess it. This compulsion lasts for 1 minute, and affected creatures may make a new Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of their turns to end the effect.

Magic Weapons. The Tzodron's weapon attacks are magical.

Actions

Multiattack. The Tzodron makes two slam attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage.

Desert’s Grasp (Recharge 6). The Tzodron summons a pillar of swirling sand at a point it can see within 60 feet. Each creature in a 10-foot radius, 20-foot-high cylinder centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 18). A creature takes 33 (6d10) bludgeoning damage and is restrained on a failed save, or half as much damage and isn’t restrained on a successful one. A creature restrained by the sands can use its action to make a Strength check (DC 18). On a success, it frees itself.

Eroding Theft (2/Day). The Tzodron targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw (DC 18) or one magic item they are holding (Tzodron’s choice) begins to erode, becoming nonmagical over the course of 1 minute. The process can be halted by a greater restoration spell or similar magic.
