Happy Halloween!

Dear Insane Children,

Woooo! Halloween! Our favorite night of the year!

Alex brings you a TREAT  - a further evolution of the Alice poster he's working on. He says of this...

Happy Halloween guys! I just wanted to get this one into you tonight, another WIP, and you can see this poster has turned into a 2-in-1 style, with Alice and her Shadow getting equal billing on the poster.
A few things to note, the "Shadow" concept design is a new one that really just spilled out of my pen as I was sketching, and I was interested to see where she went.
It's an amalgamation of Alice, Hysteria Alice, Rage Alice and the new Flame styled Alice for Asylum. I wanted something with claws, and I can see her flesh moving and twisting like broken lava and flowing embers. Chaos symbol on her forehead also. Something that all those broken psyches might look like rolled into one form.
I've not been able to revisit the face yet, and some proportions will need tweaking to bring the two more in line with one another, but just wanted to share the direction for where this one is heading.
I estimate I'll have this one nailed in another one or two sittings.
Am liking the composition and movement in this one.

What do you think? Is this one finding a place on your wall?

Halloween Livestream

In case you missed it, here's a LINK TO the Halloween livestream.

Special guest Roger L. Jackson joined us to discuss his role as the Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, and other characters in the Alice series. We also had a look at updates to the White Rabbit Plush design art, the latest "Shadow Alice" image from Omri, and more.

When you're done trick-or-treat'ing, give it a watch!

From myself, Martin, Lulu, and all of the Alice: Asylum team - we hope everyone is having a wicked night filled with costumes, tricks, and fun!

From Shanghai with Wooooo,

Happy Halloween!

I like the Chaos symbol for a crown: When I read "chaos symbol on the forehead" I thought: "Oh no! Not Bullseye from Daredevil!" 😆

Make Nine Inch Nails great again

Love the updates on the poster by Alex. Appreciated Roger L Jackson taking his time to come speak on the stream. Thanks for making Halloween that much more fun with the live stream. I mostly listen to it while I was taking my toddler trick or treating X3.

Absolutely in love with the new poster!!!

this new illustration from Alex is great. am I the only one who feels that Alice and her Shadow self are enjoying each others company on this picture? :D

As I understand it, in Jungian terms, the shadow should be comprehended and grappled, but not necessarily defeated, and in this way chaos is embraced and order restored. Portraying it as evil doesn't really say very much about what the shadow is. To my mind, it should look very much like Alice herself, and even have something of a seductive quality, and if that word appears unseemly for a thirteen year old girl, attractive will do. The shadow of a young girl would be the part of her that wants to steal or break her sister's toys or mock the tubby child at school; tendencies that manifest themselves throughout our lives, in variously complex shades of resentment and spite, but which are of little substance in the hero's journey, expect inasmuch as we recognise them for what they are and circumnavigate them

The finished picture is amazing!!!!

Hope you dont mind if i make a t shirt for myself out of this image.

Yeah its gorgeous.

Really like the style!

I love it, this is my new favourite of the black/white/red art prints!

Really enjoying this Alice poster design (though I think Alice’s left arm should be angled down a bit more for a more natural pose), and I definitely like this design concept for Shadow Alice more than the tentacle creature version. I especially like Alex’s description of Shadow Alice as an amalgam of the different versions of Alice, and I think it could be put to some amazing use in game. It had been suggested before that Shadow Alice might send Hysteria/Rage/etc out as sub-bosses, but I’d like to add to that idea and SUGGEST that when Shadow Alice does that, they disappear from her amalgam (ie, when Rage is sent to fight Alice, Shadow Alice no longer has horns)…and so at the end of the game when she’s finally confronted, Shadow Alice won’t be this terrifying monstrous thing anymore…she will just be Alice herself. I think there might be something interesting on a story level if the thing that was creating all this destruction in Wonderland and the self was, at the end, not some twisted monster, but just Alice. Perhaps Shadow Alice could even be pitiful and sympathetic at the end, a manifestation of the fears and worries that were lashing out in the wake of the fire and the associated trauma. Maybe defeating her won’t be a ridiculous over-the-top boss fight, but something small and quiet…maybe even just a button prompt to comfort this sad, broken creature or to sing to her because by that point in the game, our Alice will have become strong enough to accept the Shadow and no longer desire to destroy it, and the kindness she will show is what triumphs over the darkness.

It is amazing I am in love with this poster

Ill share my chick Rick in discord. Top notch night. Excited to have these treats a part of it. Blessed Samhain. Love to all

I love that picture. Can't wait to add it to my mini' s collection.

The shadow Alice makes me think of the Cheshire Cat dress from madness returns but I absolutely love it
