Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Added 2022-09-16 21:03:29 +0000 UTCI think this is one of the worst songs ever, and I will likely stand by it to my grave. What's a famous song that you hate, that's incredibly well known, and beloved? It's a tough question. For me there are so many. This one, Don't Stop Believing, Sweet Home Alabama.....gah, the list goes on and on and on. ><

Their other single, Walking on the Sun, is fine. I just hate All Star. I heard it all the time on the radio while in carpool going to and from school and I just thought it was terrible, all the more so because EVERYONE liked it. Me, it gave me a headache.

2022-09-19 18:29:09 +0000 UTCCanon in D. There are so many beautiful romantic pieces of music and this is the best we can come up with for weddings?

2022-09-18 21:49:19 +0000 UTCYeah, I think the only Adelle song I've emotionally connected with was Easy on Me and that's cause I do think it's a unique perspective. Can't say I've heard a song about asking your child for forgiveness for divorcing their father. That one I do find very moving but otherwise, agree. Catchy songs, powerful vocals but what they're actually about is pretty unremarkable to me.

2022-09-17 23:50:45 +0000 UTCI Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith, especially in the context of Armageddon, where Liv Tyler’s dad is singing over her cringey love scenes with Ben Affleck

2022-09-17 03:31:45 +0000 UTCDisregarding everything on radio over the last 20 years, and anything from every boy band in existence, my list would include: Coolio - Gangster Paradise Sugar Ray - Every Morning EMF - Unbelievable Shaggy - Boombastic Will Smith - Jiggy With It Will Smith - Men in Black Will Smith - Wild Wild West Eminem - My Name Is House of Pain - Jump Around Puff Daddy - I'll Be Missing You Toto - Africa Bettles - Hey Jude I could go on and on like Joni Mitchell, but I digress. Im not a music snob, it's just I worked at a music store from high school through college. I sincerely hope I didn't yuck anyone's yum.

2022-09-17 01:23:17 +0000 UTCI think this is a matter of growing older, getting sick of things. Those same things, Take Me Out to the Ballpark, Sweet Home Whatever, will live to our dying breath. And as we die, we’ll, given moderate grace, look fondly back, and say for the last time, Take me to Alabama, doo da a too. One, Two, Three, in our silly little game. Super drunk, but I think shitting on things, stupid-ass things, is going to be the opposite thing as we all grow older

2022-09-17 00:20:58 +0000 UTCI so agree with you about Take Me Out To The Ballgame. For myself, I would say the US National Anthem. Not because I have a problem with the lyrics or national anthems generally, I just think it’s so bizarre that it’s played at every sporting event, even high school games. Very few other countries do this and it just gives me a weird ‘50s death cult vibe when I see an entire stadium do it lol.

2022-09-17 00:19:28 +0000 UTCTop 5 Songs I Hate So Very, Very Much (in no particular order): “Fireflies”— Owl City Heard it all the time on the radio circa 2009. Wish a flaming meteor from the sky would land on the band. “All Star”—Smash Mouth Even if every other movie from the late 1990s to the early ‘00s didn’t feature this song, I would still hate it with a fiery passion. It’s that bad. “It’s a Small World”—shitty ride at Disneyland Okay, this is low hanging fruit, but how could it not be mentioned? “All I Want for Christmas”—Mariah Carey I didn’t start off not liking this song. My hate for it grew over time. I think it was Love Actually that ruined it for me. “Don’t Stop Believin’”—Journey Yeah, it’s been mentioned, but it really is that bad a song. Poor Tony, you had to go out hearing this garbage noise (you know what I’m talking about), and in doing so you gave the song a resurgence it didn’t deserve.

2022-09-16 22:12:33 +0000 UTCI don’t hate Adele’s songs, but I find her overrated. She’s got a great voice but I think her lyrics are uninspired and I think she doesn’t have a unique perspective.

2022-09-16 21:51:48 +0000 UTCI don't like anything by Phil Collins. Even his big hits like In The Air Tonight and Another Day in Paradise don't do anything for me and bore me to death.
