I've always had a soft spot for satirical and/or sardonic comedy songs and films, whether it be George Formby (The Maginot Line, When I'm cleaning windows,) Monty Python (Always look on the bright side of life, The Galaxy Song) or even Walk Hard (Let's Duet, Beautiful Ride) as well as those comedians who have a focus on comedy songs like Tim Minchin (Woody Allen Jesus, If I didn't have you) or Garfunkel & Oates (Go Kart Racing, I don't know who you are) Tom Lehrer (We'll all go together when we go, The Elements) as well as bands and singers like Weird Al, Steel Panther etc. With the Weird Al Parody biopic coming later this year I'd be interested if you have any favourite songs/films that fall into this category. I guess as a topic video it would be something like favourite Parody Songs or Films.

There are so many times when seeing a movie in a theater just makes all the difference in the world, especially if it’s a classic. Maybe it made you appreciate it more, maybe it was a uniquely fun experience, maybe you’re baffled that the movie got a theatrical release lol. Just some that stand out

2022-08-31 02:28:36 +0000 UTCEven though I'm 100% aware that they're fictional, I find well written characters to be more real than real people. There's too many people that I've seen and met that throw all logic and consistency out the window, usually to validate themselves or bully someone, that when I see any high quality film with stellar writing, I understand the characters more because they're more consistent with their thoughts and actions regardless of their moral standing or likability. Does anyone else have similar feelings or am I just crazy?

I remember when I was younger, I would sometimes have an opinion on a film and then see online that the general consensus is different and feel kind of insecure about my opinion as if I didn’t look at the movie from a proper perspective.

Or maybe something like "What's your favorite use of pre-existing music in a scene and why?" I'm assuming we've already done favorite scores but maybe it's time for another round of that.
