News: December 2024

DI's combat system overhaul is pretty much done. I've adjusted the menus some as well. The companions will now be accessible from the inventory, as will equipment and the stats page. The goal was to put everything together for better ease of use. No one likes clicking through menus trying to find stuff. Lots of placeholder images at the moment, so no previews just yet.

Equipment will consist of 1 weapon and 3 accessories. Weapons will increase your power, which means more damage. Accessories can increase various stats. You will be able to mix and match them to fit the playstyle you want. You can stack speed to get more turns than the enemy. You can stack defense with regenerative effects to make sure you are never defeated. You can go for more balanced stats, or whatever else you might come up with.

You will be able to "equip" up to 4 companions. The first of which will always be Angel. As you progress through the game, she will learn new effects for you to swap to and choose from. Then you will have your combat companion. This one will show visually in combat. The final two companions will act as supports. Every companion will provide a special effect when in the party. The combat companion will provide the full effect, while the supports will provide a lesser effect. There's a bit more to companions, but you'll learn about that in game.

The map screen is completed except for the visuals. This didn't take very long, but it's worth noting since it was absent from the initial release. The map will function similarly to GnB's main map. Each major area will have a map with various locations you can click on at the bottom of the screen. You will be able to easily jump between the major area maps all from the same map screen as well, for the sake of convenience. There should be less clutter on this map than what was in GnB. The map background visuals will also vary based on which companions you have recruited.

Once the menus and their visuals are all sorted out, I can start on adding actual content. There's a decent amount planned for the first big release. I know first impressions are everything, so I want to get it right the first time. I expect it to take at least a few more months before the first big update is ready. Lots of renders to get to. You'll still have the monthly TOTs until then. Speaking of which..

The winner of the poll for the next TOT is "Road Trip". Specifically the female partner version. Eventually I'll include futa (or female/etc) variants of old TOTs as options in the monthly poll. For now, I want to stick to only new scenarios.

TOT: Road Trip might have a little more text than the others have had. It was one of the first ideas I had for the TOTs, so I have more notes for this one. I'm kind of glad it was voted fairly early on. Hopefully you'll enjoy this one!

I've also been thinking about dropping the AI voice in the full version. It reads the text pretty slow most of the time. It also sounds.. well, like an AI voice. Maybe some other sound effects in its place. Specifically during the animated sections. Something similar to GnB. Let me know if you might would prefer that.
