I used to be a waitress at a bar briefly, but then once the pandemic happened in 2020, I told my boss that I wouldn't be returning before lockdown started, and he was closing down shop temporarily anyway. Turns out he was shot and killed a few nights ago in a homicide. He was an extremely angry man, ex military trained hard-ass, and whatever happened, happened due to escalation of tensions apparently. Wild. How are ya'll doin? Not the best segue-way, I'm aware. ><

They got Cillian Murphy to be in the music video for Pana-Vision. I bought tickets to see them in December so I’m excited

Oh man. I'm so sorry. That's terrible. I really hope there isn't lasting damage. And also...I know how stressful the accident thing can be, even beyond the injuries. Take care of yourself. <3

Sounds very much up my alley. Thanks for recommending. And yes, quite a tragic thing.

No worries. Sounds like you got the taste.

Sorry to hear about your former coworker. I'm doing alright. I am digging the new Thom Yorke/ Jonny Greenwood project The Smile

Thank you.

Stephen

Sorry to hear about that. Hope you recover fully and don’t have any lasting damage done to you.

I recently got hooked on Mr Ballen videos on YouTube. If you don’t know who he is, he’s a storyteller that specializes in the “strange, dark, and mysterious”. Stories about murders, disappearances, horrible workplace deaths, you name it. Anything dealing in the macabre he’s got true stories about, and he’s excellent at telling those stories. So I binged a shitload of those stories over the course of a week and they got me paranoid af about being alone in my apartment. Had trouble sleeping. So I backed off of watching them and got back to a more normal state of mind. I’ll go back eventually and watch more of them. In moderation. But they’re really good. Sorry to hear about your old boss. His life seemed to have ended along the lines of the people whose stories I’ve listened to, and that’s nothing short of tragic.

That's terrible. Not to be a downer, but for the past couple of weeks I've been recovering from a car accident. Thankfully, my injuries were minimal but I was knocked unconscious and literally don't remember anything from the accident. Looking forward to going back to work once I can.

He sounds like a real asshole. Both jobs I had in the past had the most micromanaging bosses who disguised their snobbery with smiles and fake generosity. They'd criticize me for my personality over the most petty things that had no relevance on my work performance and didn't provably bother other coworkers. My anxiety got to such dangerous levels that I had to quit before I ended up doing something rash that could get me fired. Goddamn gas prices kept me from making any Door dash money without blowing all of a day's wages on refilling my car. Take it from me, the job market with its reliance on rigged online application programs is a lottery game except winning is mandatory to make a living and good luck not working for a hostile manager if you even get the job. I'm 0 for 2 on that stat.

My show is currently on hiatus at the moment so I’ve had a lot of free time to unwind. The last few weeks I’ve just been watching a lot of baseball and getting in some long walks with my dog. Could be worse.

That's grim. The amount of gun violence in the US is terrifying to those living outside of it. In the UK we are on the back end of an insanely long heat wave so sweating and complaining about the heat is the order of the day :)

Currently battling a rough case of COVID. Shit ain't fun, yo.
