Well, you might've noticed that this strip was ALSO published on Nov. 27th, 2011--at least according to my Tumblr account--which reminds me that I did not originally post JL8 in color. I can't remember how far I got before I decided to start adding color to the comic, but once I did, I believe I took down all the existing strips and began re-uploading, possibly posting #1 and #2 on the same day.

ANYwho.

Here we introduce Clark, who was actually the first character that came to mind when I had the idea for this strip. From the start, I wanted to convey the difference in he and Bruce's personalities, and since we have Bruce lamenting his costume in strip #1, I thought it'd be a fun idea to have Clark really take to it, to Bruce's chagrin.

This was wholly unintentional, but this fashion fascination (fashionation?) really lays the groundwork for the New-52 commentary that shows up between strips ~#25-50, so that's kind of neat.

This may also be one of the only times Bruce's "ears" poke out and away from his head, rather than straight up. Also, note how the backpack straps are treated like suspenders that hook onto the belt, so as not to obstruct their capes. I think I did away with that pretty quickly, because it's not a good idea lol.
