It wasn’t a terribly complex algorithm, at least not for Tails. It only took a few days to write the base code of the new device; ideally, this addition to Team Sonic’s gear would allow for light-based deconstruction of weapons and tools for later use. He got the idea on the first day of this year’s Babylon X Tournament, when he saw the racers summon their hoverboards out of thin air. This was just a simple matter of copying the code used in the racers’ wristbands and applying it to a more universal format.
It was now the fifth day of the tournament, and while he lamented that he wouldn’t have the device done sooner, he didn’t regret the reason for the delay. He didn’t think much of it when Perci asked to come along to the tournament. He figured it was just a casual date following their heated encounter in his workshop… several months ago. Fortunately, the fire between them hadn’t died. They missed the first two days of the tournament because they were too busy studying each other’s bodies.
Another thing Tails didn’t account for was running into his old nemesis. Wave, an intelligent mechanic and a high-ranking thief among thieves, had entered the tournament under a pseudonym to throw off the authorities. She had revealed herself to Tails in a back alley when her board needed some emergency repairs. She and Perci hit it off just fine with their shared love of mechanics and extreme sports, but there was an underlying tension brought on by her long history with Tails. Perci knew the perfect way to quell those longstanding feelings of contempt.
That’s why the sleek avian’s ample breasts were brushing against Tails’ arm, coming closer to his face and threatening to cover his view of his computer. “Come back to bed, shorty,” Wave whispered into Tails’ ear. “Perci just isn’t as squeezable as you.” Her hand grappled at his vest, and the other slid down somewhere dangerous. Subtlety was not on the menu.
“You saying I’m cute?” Tails jabbed at her, stopping his typing and flashing a smile. He gave her a one-armed hug and kissed her on the cheek as he felt her hand coil around her favorite tool of his. He took a deep breath and looked up at Perci, whose fur glistened with drops of water from the shower, her breasts barely covered by a fluffy hotel towel.
Perci kneeled down, gave Tails a kiss of her own, and nodded at the unkempt pile of pillows and blankets strewn about on the floor. “You work too hard, hotshot. Why don’t you lie down for a bit?”
